Key details:
Our things were collected in July 2022 and August 2022.
When the shipment arrived in January 2023, half of our things were missing.
What did arrive had not been packed properly. e.g. An item we had paid to be crated arrived in bubble wrap with 'CRATE ME' written on it.
Our missing things were still in Atlantis' warehouse.
They initially promised to airfreight these, but then backtracked due to the price and said they would ship them instead.
Two months later, our belongings reached Muara port in Brunei but were not released for another two weeks. This was because Atlantis hadn't settled an invoice with the shipping line.
When our things were eventually released, it became clear some items were still missing.
I emailed Atlantis about the missing items on 25/04/23 (almost 3 weeks ago); they have not replied to me.

Our case was personally handled by the company director.
Atlantis required payment in advance and quoted on the basis of packing, insuring, loading, transportation, delivery and unloading our belongings into our Spanish property.
The Atlantis director himself packed our valuable items and furniture from a large van of special packing and boxes. He recommended 3 hours to load a 20 foot container. They used our ladder, because they forgot theirs, and it took two of them nearly 6 hours to load (250 packages) even with easy access from our UK property.
Insurance was worrying. We repeatedly requested to agree values and payment. The director said not to worry, they often sorted insurance after the event! We agreed and paid £439 before setting off.
Our container left March 22nd. Atlantis lost control of the process.
They could not guarantee how long delivery would take. Their Spanish receiving business revealed it was not their responsibility to arrange for the container to get to our home, just men to unload.
We contacted the port of Valencia direct about the container and so we liaised with Atlantis and their unloading agents. The delivery was agreed for Friday 6th April at 11 am two weeks after leaving the UK. The container arrived early 8.30 am; its driver was cross because my wife and I could not unload him.
The “unloaders” got lost and arrived at 12.30. They came without a ladder, so we used ours again, and finally damaged it – because Atlantis had not forewarned them.
Our Spanish house in Alicante region is down two flights of stairs, a fact declared and demonstrated with photographs to Atlantis before their quotation. Unfortunately Atlantis UK did not share this information with their Spanish partners. They sent only two “unpackers”: one about my age (61) and the other 74 years old! We needed to unload that Friday, that day, so my wife and I had to unload as well. It took the four of us eight hours to unload, finishing at 9pm. We were all exhausted. The 74-year-old looked particularly ill.
Spanish unpackers were unprepared to take away packing materials. It took us many days to unpack and dispose of the boxes and polystyrene in local tips.
We lost some items to breakages - glassware and the dining room table was badly marked.
Atlantis’ director has not bothered to contact us since, to check that we are safely in our Spanish home and get any feedback.
We definitely DO NOT recommend Atlantis forwarding.
