I would recommend McCarthys - Leeds to friends and family.

When we first booked the unit we arrived to find it occupied and had to put all our stuff upstairs in a different building that did not have a liift. As I am disabled this was not the best start. Then, while he was in London, a lady called [name removed by Sirelo] phoned him saying he had to pay an outstanding balance of £60, despite the fact that he had paid every invoice sent. She could not explain how he owed the money and later phoned him back to say it was her mistake and he didn't owe it.
He thought that was the end of it, but McCarthy's had one more surprise in store. When we drove from Cheshire to Leeds on Sun 15/08/21 to collect his stuff we found our access suspended and we were unable to get his property. This was despite his account being paid until the end of the month and the correct notice given.
There is no way of contacting anyone out of hours so we had no alternative but to return home. When we made the 150 mile round trip again this morning the lady in the office was apologetic at first but when I raised the point that we had made the trip twice and should now be on our way to London, rather than having to drive back to Leeds, her attitude changed, claiming that although she couldn't explain why my son's PIN had been suspended, our access was only office hours and there was nothing she could do.
Be very careful if you use this company for storage, especially if you think you have 24/7 access. It could turn out to be an expensive lesson, as it was for us.Read more
