Overall a terrible experience. We decided not to go ahead with the additional service of taking our belongings out of storage and into our new property, only removal from our house to storage. Because of this they doubled the original quote and claimed it was down to the 'cost of living'. They also damaged a number of expensive items and refuse to engage with us on the claim until we've paid the difference for the doubled quote. And added to that, we've received a number of aggressive and condescending phone calls, which has provided unnecessary stress to my then pregnant wife - with more similar phone calls while she is looking after our now 4 month old baby.
Clearly a practice that when the quote changes, and not in their favour, they will look for other opportunities to reclaim that lost revenue.
Given how stressful a house move is anyway, I would not go anywhere near this company again and would use a local company - we've done just that with moving our belongings out of storage, and it's been a world of difference. They also highlighted a number of damaged items to us that Alan Cook would have known about but decided not to inform us about...such as smashing our wood burning hot tub (something you'd notice), snapping legs off coffee tables and TVs, breaking picture frames and so on...Read more
