[Name removed by Sirelo] assured us in August he could do international moves. In writing when we asked he said he could do all the paperwork. We sought 3 quotes for our move to give to our company. [Name removed by Sirelo] set his quote the lowest and won the contract. We paid him £1000 up front for the move with the remainder to be paid upon delivery. He was due to move us the week the 11th August. He did not arrive due to paperwork he did not know about (he said he knew how to do an international move.) For three months we have waited in an empty house sleeping on the floor. On 4 occasions he promised delivery then let us down on the day without prior communication. On Sat 19th he arranged to finally deliver our goods. We checked he had all the codes, all the paper work he needed, and he said yes. We confirmed delivery and said he was booking his ferry tickets. We were due to be on holiday on the 19th but changed our flights, and our holiday arrangements - desperate to receive our stuff. We contacted him many times the week of the move and he did not communicate ever. We were alerted by my parents that he had not picked up our stuff the day before he was due to leave. Finally the evening of the 18th when he was supposed to be on the ferry he responded to many texts and unanswered calls to say he was not once again coming. He told us the next date could be the 2nd November because he was busy!!!! (Three months, no furniture, work clothes, kitchen ware, TV etc.) Throughout last week we tried calling him, texting and contacting him to confirm delivery on the 2nd. He ignored all calls except one when he said he would not refund our money. We asked that if he could not complete the job to return our money so we could employ a different firm. He then replied telling us he had spent the money and we would not get it back. He even asked for another 200 as he said he was now out of pocket!!! I continued to message him and ask for a confirmation to complete the job or return our money. I also contacted him as our rug worth over a hundred pounds was missing and he had torn our new mattress (less than a year old ) in three places. Nothing, no response. He then got annoyed at my messaging him at work, (this was inconvenient for him and annoyed him despite months of him treating us so badly by not communicating or doing the job he agreed and said he could do) and told me he would not return our money as he had spent it on trying to do paperwork, storage (he could have left our goods in our own storage or flat) etc, he told me to take him to court. He has blocked my number, we are in Germany having spent over 2000 on new furniture, a bed to sleep in (after 2 months sleeping on the floor) some clothes for work and he believes the 1000 is his to keep despite not delivering our goods. He needs to deliver less now for the same price as we had to buy furniture to live and work.) He thinks it's ok to pay him to do work on the ground with no results for us. Obviously we paid for a move he has not done and now refuses to complete and expects to keep my £1000 and apparently steal my rug as well as he has not responded to giving this back at all. No apology. I just want to warn everyone not to use this company. We are now having to take him to court at his own request to get our £1000 back, our rug back, for damages and compensation for all the money we spent unnecessarily due to his false dates for delivery. After his first quote he came back to us saying he had quoted wrong and could we pay him more money, we went to our employers and secured another 600 for him. We have been patient, courteous, lost lots of money, started new jobs in another country without our belongings and because I messaged him asking for him to confirm the 2nd of November for delivery or return the £1000 he thinks we have been rude. Unbelievable. As you can imagine no one deserves this treatment, we are honest decent people who have even tried to help him do his job this end in any way we can, and £1000 is too much for us or anyone to lose to a company who convinced us they could do a job they clearly were incapable of doing, accepted our money up front for said job, not to mention the missing rug and damages. We have been good customers for [Name removed by Sirelo too he has moved us 3 times in the UK, we always give generous tips and ensure we give beer etc to the crew. Obviously we will get our money back through the courts as he is in violation of the 2015 consumer act that covers moving firms as well. In fact we could have asked for a refund back in August when he failed to deliver the first time. but stuck by him out of goodwill and what we believed was a good relationship. I will be warning people and sharing my story in the Stratford area and if he completes the job, returns our rug and sorts damages out I will update all the reviews. For anyone else out there organisations such as the FHIO Ombudsmen, local commerce organisations in Warwickshire, the BAR is also worth talking to for support.Read more
