What were your reasons for moving? What was the experience like?

I had to move to the UK for my new job. Therefore, I started looking for cheap solutions to send my personal belongings to my new place in Cambridge. It took about a month for me to finally find a solution that was worth it and immediately emailed the moving company.

They responded and I received a moving quote for my belongings. I then double checked it with quotes from Fedex, TNT and UPS, which were about the same price. However, the best part was that they would pick up and deliver to my flat which was a very good option for me.

At the end, everything was smooth and a very nice experience.

What made you choose this mover? Did you do any research?

I chose Bolliger because it was cheaper than others and they delivered to my flat. I had to do a lot of research to find this movers. The other companies suggested by Sirelo were about 30% more expensive.

Other moving companies also told me they would have to pack my stuff to know what is inside for customs. This was not the case with Bolliger. I packed everything myself and gave them my ToR1 form. That was it, no fuss or hidden charges.

Take us through your moving day – did everything go as planned? What worked and what didn’t?

The first encounter with this my moving company was a bit stressful. The moving van had broken down and thus, my pickup had to be cancelled. Due to this unfortunate event, I had to change my flight! I told them about this and we scheduled another pickup date within a week.

To make things better, they gave me a discount on my shipment, and so I added 5 more moving boxes for free!

The delivery date was confirmed, I paid the total amount and three guys came to my house on time. They were very kind and loaded and labelled everything. I signed the documents and it was done in about 30 minutes in total – very fast. After a week I gave them the ToR form and a week after that they delivered everything to my flat without any problem. Everything was delivered safe and nothing was damaged nor broken.

Based on your experience, what are your top tips you’d like to share to help others for their own moves?

✅ Do your research!

✅ Apply for your ToR form (for free) in time to minimize delays

✅ Plan ahead: At least 2 weeks before you are planning to leave to new destination, you should start your planning! If any delays occur (which is very common) you will be very stressed out.

✅ Set a deadline: Buy your plane tickets and finalize a pickup date with the company, otherwise you will never finish your packing… ‘There will always be tomorrow!’

✅ Moving services: Use a delivery option that suits you. Unless you have expensive furniture, don’t pay for extra options like insurance. 99% everything will reach you safe!
