Two days after shipment, Mr [Name removed by Sirelo] sent me an invoice for a £1000 more than what was agreed.
I offered to pay W.I. Freight Ltd (the forwarder), the exact sum that they had billed Mr [Name removed by Sirelo] -their customer for freight costs.
This was nearly £300 more than my agreement with the shipper [Name removed by Sirelo]'s shipping uk) - yet, they refused it and also refused to issue release instructions.
The crate has been held in the Caribbean in Customs for over 50 days by W.I. Freight Ltd -without any written lien notice as required under BIFA STC 8.
I am about to file a formal complaint with BIFA and UK Trading Standards.
