Jeakins caused considerable and irreparable damage to our property and its contents including, but not limited to, gouges across a chest of drawers, a completely wrecked wardrobe, veneer scraped off an antique set of shelves, large scraping down the side of an antique sideboard and deep gouges and scratches throughout the wooden floors of the house. Walls were chipped and scratched, no protective wrapping or covers on furniture or floors, no care taken, furniture hastily and inadequately put back together and a poor customer service and complaints procedure to boot.
Some irony given their website claims that 'our professional team, take the greatest care with your belongings and property, using protective flooring, bannister coverings and specialist equipment for your larger and more valuable items'.
Not only that but they then wriggled their way out of providing adequate compensation through a technical clause in the contract - despite fully admitting they were entirely at fault for all of the damage - in a process that they dragged out over months and deliberately misled.
I have moved seven times in the last ten years and this firm was by far the worst of the bunch. Avoid at all costs.Read more

AVOID! DONT EVEN ASK THEM FOR A QUOTE. Complete waste of time. Really disorganised, and reading the other 1 star reviews, others have faced the same issue we did so its not just bad luck. First email we sent asking for a quote they ignored. I rang back a week after and they did us a quote remotely based on a description of contents etc, the confirmed availability on our move date and we then emailed back confirming that we wanted to proceed and asked for next steps, they came back saying to fill out a form they would send. I chased on Monday (quote given Thursday) and they said would send the form the next day. They sent an email asking us to fill out the form but it was not attached. I emailed back asking for the attachment and they said would send the next day. Next day comes and we get a one line email saying our date is no longer available. Despite numerous calls I'm still awaiting an explanation. This happened today so I will update this review if I get one. It seems unfair given it was their error to not attach the form and 2 working g hours later they've given the slot to someone else. One other review noted that this had happened to them maybe because it was a small local move, which ours is too (3 bed house not much stuff).Read more

I have recently moved with this company and will never again, a lot of my personal things have got broken even though they were wrapped in paper and bubble wrap, also boxes got put in the wrong rooms, not happy.
