They are not members, nor do they adhere to, the professional standards of the National Guild Of Removers & Storers, and the Removals Ombudsman Scheme. Much of my furniture had been damaged by damp, though they advertised at the time that they had a 'climate controlled' warehouse. Direct Removals Ltd. insurers do not cover damage caused by damp. Further much of my antique furniture was damaged, scratched, chipped and had corners and panels missing. One of the removals men appeared to get a thrill out of damaging my furniture and the walls. He even laid my leather sofa top side up on the outside asphalt thereby scuffling the leather. Their insurers paid a measly amount. However Direct Removals refused to pay their porton of £250. Though they expect customers to pay in full prior to having their furniture delivered this unprofessional company refused to reciprocate the due courtesy and did not respond to my emails nor letters. Potential customers be warned and make certain to only use a
professional removals company that belongs to the Removals Ombusdman Scheme. I wish I had known of the scheme prior.Read more
