I paid a £250 deposit to International Moving Expert after agreeing by phone with Pavinder that collection of my belongings would take place during the week commencing 28th July. This date was critical for our relocation plans.
The very next day, I was told the collection date had changed to 14th July — two weeks earlier than agreed. This made the service completely unworkable, as we cannot be without our shipment for over three weeks. I immediately cancelled and requested a refund.
They refused — claiming the deposit was non-refundable. However:
• I was never told this at the time of payment
• I was not given any Terms & Conditions before payment
• The Terms & Conditions they sent me after I cancelled do not mention anything about the deposit being non-refundable
• They changed the agreed service terms — not me
When I escalated the issue, the Managing Director, [Name removed by Sirelo], told me it was my responsibility to ask if the deposit was refundable. That is legally incorrect. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, it is the trader’s duty to provide key information — including refund and cancellation rights — before taking payment. The fact that they still hold this view is extremely concerning.
I’ve now filed a chargeback request with my bank and submitted a complaint to Trading Standards.
⚠️ The company took money on the basis of one agreement, changed it the next day, and refused to refund me despite no legal basis to retain the deposit. Unprofessional, misleading, and completely dismissive when challenged. Avoid.Read more


I'm not planning on moving abroad again but, if I was, I'd use this company again in a heartbeat.


They collect from North Yorkshire to Co Galway in Ireland taking very good care of our belongings.
