The court has upheld a complaint against London Midland Movers and accepted a claim for damages. London Midland Movers is avoiding the payment and evading the court order. This is for more than £500 in damages they caused to various items in a £900 move, including breaking a King size bed, a single child's bed, a child's bike and a double wardrobe - all beyond repair. This damage was caused partially in transit because they failed to provide sufficient transport (and the move was 12 hours late due to their hired vans breaking down), and partially because of botched disassembly/reassembly using untrained staff with improper tools. During the move, they threatened my wife and children and I with stealing our property, littered our garden with their rubbish, and were abusive. They refused to allow us to claim damage on the movers insurance we had paid for, suggesting that they had pocketed the money and not actually paid for the insurance. I had booked these cowboys to save £300 compared
to a British Movers Association (BMA)-registered outfit. But it has cost me more than that saving, as well as stress and anxiety over a prolonged period. Do yourself a favour and stump up the extra for a proper, accredited BMA outfit. At least that way if something goes wrong the ombudsman will sort quickly, rather than chase the unprofessional London Midland Movers through the courts. I submit this review in a bid to help you avoid the stress and pain I and my family went through - and are still going through as we chase damages almost a year later.Read more
