S&B moved my mum and dad the other day and we couldn't have been happier with the service. The guys were great, nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a reliable removal company.

I was dreading moving day, but the team at SB Removals made it completely stress-free. Despite a huge pile of boxes, a heavy chest of drawers, and an awkward exercise bike, they didn't bat an eye. They honored our agreed-upon fixed price and deposit perfectly—absolutely no haggling or hidden fees.
Watching them work was impressive; they carefully navigated the tricky stairs and fit everything into the van like experts. When we arrived at the new house, they didn't just dump things at the entrance. They carried every box up the front steps and right into the proper rooms. It was an incredibly smooth and professional experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Excellent home removal. We had to postpone our move it wasn't a problem they kept our furniture in storage until we were ready. On the day of the move they arrived prompt and the workers were so pleasant and very helpful. I would highly recommend this company great service from start to finish. We would certainly use them again.

Thank you so much to John and the team for helping us pack our house and move to our new one. The team were very professional and polite. The care and attention with all of our items was fantastic, particularly some very expensive paintings.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

I’m actually saddened to be writing this review as my husband and I have been loyal customers of S&B over the years, and have used their removals and storage services on a number of occasions since around 2010.
However, on our most recent move, when our items came out of storage, several of them were damaged. They did repair the leg on one of the coffee tables which had been broken off, however have now completely stopped corresponding with us over requests to repair the other items.
Some of the key items that were damaged, are family heirlooms and therefore irreplaceable. Items such as my grandmothers dressing table from the 1940’s/50’s for which the mirror fixings have completely snapped off, and my Uncle’s speakers on which the wooden casing has been damaged due to poor packing. I also have a painting belonging to my grandmother which was bought in Spain in the 1950’s. The glass was smashed and they replaced this with cheap and ill-fitting Perspex, and the frame hasn’t been professionally reattached either. What’s worse is that they re-delivered this item and hoped I wouldn’t notice, which really is quite unbelievable and offensive.
My goods were packed by S&B, stored by S&B, and delivered back to us by S&B. Therefore, liability falls to them (I refer to their own T’s & C’s, Section 9). Any reputable company would have insurance to cover this, and their documentation states that they do indeed have liability cover up to a maximum of £45,000 in some cases. Although given what I have now found out from Companies House (gov.uk) I very much doubt this is the case.
It is worth noting that this company is not a member of the British Association of Removers (BAR) or the National Guild of Removers and Storers (NGRS). While I believe this not to be compulsory, any professional and accountable removals/storage company would be.
After doing a bit of research myself online, I noticed from Companies House that there is an insolvency case against them and a petition date for compulsory liquidation dated 27th February 2026.
Their associated company West End Storage and Distribution LTD is still 'Active' on Companies House but has overdue accounts, so I fear this company is facing the same fate.
When I say 'associated company', we have had invoices with both companies details on the same invoice over the past 18 months, which I have to say, was a bit confusing at the time. It can be noted from Companies House that the same long-standing staff seem to be moving between companies, resigning or terminating contracts, and then reinstating contracts. There is definitely something VERY suspicious going on, perhaps to avoid Bankruptcy...
Hopefully this review will prevent any further distress to potential new customers by making the wrong decision to choose S&B, or West End Storage & Distribution.
Moving is extremely stressful and this has made things feel a lot more upsetting and unbearable. Made worse by the fact that this is a company I trusted and had a long=standing relationship with.
I now have no option but to pursue legal action through a small claims court.Read more

Had John out on the 10th February 2026 to give us a quote. Tried telephoning 4 times and still no quote. It's now the 26th February and still no quote.
