We paid for their service (in full), then 5 days later their BAR membership was terminated (they did not meet the financial requirements). They did not inform us of such, which means if they default you could lose your protection by the BAR for a refund (if they go bankrupt). 5 months later (still no delivery, had to pay another company) and they are bankrupt. Funds lost.

It took over 6 months to receive our furniture in the Canaries, the items eventually arrived but could not be released because Simpson´s had not paid the sea carrier or destination agent,, our furniture sat on the docks for 5 weeks!
Every phone call to them is a promise that the correct person will call you back! They never do! The managing Director [name removed by Sirelo] does not respond to your calls or emails. We received an email to say they were going into liquidation, but according to Companies House they are still trading?
We paid 2,700 pounds upfront to Simpsons and an additional 2,600 euros to the agents here to get our items!!!!! If they haven´t already gone bust, they deserve to! Worst experience ever!

THEY ARE UNRELIABLE AND DISHONEST. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND YOU WON'T GET A REFUND. AFTERWARDS THEY WILL TELL YOU THAT THEY WERE PLACED UNDER LIQUIDATION. We paid them to move our furniture from London to Cape Town. After 6 months I had to get another company to ship our goods as they had kept it at their warehouse the entire time. They don't respond to emails or phone calls. Lost almost £3000. Very unprofessional and our goods were not even professionally wrapped. I would rather do business with Somali pirates than these dishonest people. They deserve no stars at all. Reported them to Trading Standards. They dishonestly took my money knowing that they were not able to ship my goods. In my opinion this is clearly criminal behaviour which should be investigated by the police.

I am really disappointed by Simpsons Removal Office.
I have signed up with them because I was assured that a load was planned in Scandinavia end of March. I have gone through the whole process (without any explanation of how things were done - the only person who explained a bit things was the guy picking up my stuff!) of documentation, insurance and paying the full amount, and right after the final payment they told me that my stuff won't arrive for another 4 weeks !!! Without apologies, without any compensation.
It is very different to pack stuff in order to receive them the following week, and when you pack to receive them the following month! And even after 10 days of changing, they are incapable of giving us a FIXED DATE.
The only good thing was the picking up of boxes (which were announced at 7.30AM in the morning without picking-up hour slot - so not helpful). The removers were nice, although sometimes a bit quick, and even dropped a box...
Let's see what will happen during the delivery now... If that will happen one day!

Pick up was very professional.
Once you're out of the country, the 6-8 weeks delivery time becomes the delivery time once it has made it to a boat, for which they have no specific date in mind. They will lie to you to get your business.
You then start calling them to ask when it will be delivered and they send you form emails inviting you to spend an additional 50% of the original cost for them to send it now.
They lie to you about a date.
The date passes.
They're not sure why it was not sent.
You threaten legal action.
They send your shipment with a third party company after holding it for 11 months.
Staff are rude and unhelpful once they have your money.

This has got to be the worse company I’ve ever moved with. We were completely taken in by the sales pitch, ‘family run, independent, been moving people to South Africa for years…’ Yet the local firm they've hired to move our things here had never dealt with them previously.
They’ve made several errors to date:
1. They didn’t ship when we asked them to. When I contacted them they said I’d given no instructions to them, until I produced the paper trail.
2. They tried to charge me storage when the quote said storage was for free for the first 4 weeks. They then agreed that they would not charge and that they would bear the cost of storage beyond four weeks due to their mistake mentioned above.
3. When the container arrived they had not sent the Bill of Lading - a legal document - which meant the shipping company wouldn’t release the container until this was received by telex. We only became aware of this when Bayley’s South Africa (their agent in this country) notified us that there was an irregularity. We called several times but were told it had been lost in the mail! We had a good friend, who works in exports, contact them on our behalf. It still took over a week to produce a copy.
4. Bayley’s South Africa now have our furniture but have refused to deliver the goods as they’ve not received payment to deliver them. This is over $2600. They invoiced Simpsons on 28th Sept. Simpson’s have consistently not paid, lied to us about having received the invoice, and told us yesterday that the payment was being processed but told Bayley’s within an hour of talking to us it can’t be processed as the accountant is on holiday.
5. I rang today after emailing them (they don’t respond to emails) and asked to speak to the MD - [name removed by Sirelo]. The sales manager (who refused to give his name) hung up on me.
6. [name removed by Sirelo] their office manager is probably one of the rudest people I’ve had the displeasure to do business with. She has lied, and lied and told more lies to cover their backs.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I can only assume by the similar situations people are find themselves in that Simpson’s have a cash flow crisis and can’t pay their moving agents overseas.

I booked a removal from Scotland to Northern Ireland and was given a guide delivery estimate of 7 to 21 days.
It took 58 days, so more two and a half times their estimate.
While this in itself was bad enough they also failed to keep me informed about this situation, providing neither reasons for the delay nor updated estimates, which is in violation of their own T&Cs.
In fact, they never even told me there was a delay.
I have emailed them countless times, including official complaints which were not acknowledged. All I got as response were half hearted non-apologies ('we're sorry you're not happy'). The pressing questions of where my stuff was, why it was delayed and when it would arrive were ignored.
When the items finally arrived they gave me all but three days notice despite originally promising me at least five.
Overall this experience has been very stressful and time consuming and if I could give 0 stars I would.
My advise is to avoid them at all costs.

We think he forgot about it, as when the date approached and we followed up, the company started to become less responsive. We finally phoned [name]. He promised to call back in 20 minutes. And then CLAIMED TO BE ON HOLIDAY to avoid us. Literally took our call in the morning, and then handed our case to a junior staff member. The junior staff member apologised for the confusion and we had to book another company.
