207I have emailed and called repeatedly over the last few weeks to ask how we can claim on the insurance that they say they have on their website for the damage to our washing machine. My emails received no response. Caesar picked up my first call, said he’d call back in 10 minutes. He didn’t, and then he didn’t pick up any of my further calls. I can only think he’s avoiding responding to me.
And these are just the breakages. They left several large pot plants and other garden items behind, because they ran out of space in the two vans to fit them. We had been worried about how much stuff we had beforehand, so we recorded a video of everything to show them. After we had sent it, they reassured us they would have enough space, but they didn’t.
They were also unprofessional in how they behaved and communicated with us. Surly is possibly the best way to describe it. One of the removers couldn’t speak English. He dropped an underbed storage box on the floor in front of me, at which point a bit broke off it. There were some other strange aspects that had worrying implications.
It’s hard to reconcile what we experienced with some of the other reviews. The most charitable thing I can say is that maybe they’re just not well set up for moving people with a lot of possessions. But I have seen several other bad Google reviews and so I repeat what another customer said: Avoid, avoid, avoid.
Edited in response to Ed Kowalski's reply below:
Based on my research, the typical notice period required for remover insurance policy is a week, not a day. For example the insurer AMC Removals say that: 'The insurance requires that claims be notified to the Remover within seven days of delivery'. As the reply indicates, I certainly did that. I have requested sight of the company's insurance policy to establish that what they are saying is true. I very much hope it's not another attempt to avoid responsibility, and that they do in fact have an insurance policy, but I am yet to see evidence of that.
It's also telling how the first response I receive is after I have publicly complained.
Update, June 23 2026
These removers have still not shared their policy wording to prove their claim that I needed to inform them within 24 hours of the damage, or that they do in fact have insurance.Read more
