After a hip replacement operation which has left me immobilised for 6 weeks I had to ask a friend to arrange for my belongings to be sent to Teheran from Manchester. Note that I was in Teheran and my friend packed my bags.
1. The first time I rang Tudor, [Name removed by Sirelo] replied and couldn't wait to end to phone call. He was very curt and borderline rude.
2. When the luggage arrived at Teheran airport, I rang the phone number Tudor had given me. It was the wrong contact number.
3. I obtained the correct contact no myself and rang the airport. I quoted the Bill number Tudor gave me - it was wrong again.
4. I paid for another high roaming charge phone call to get the correct bill number from them.
5. Before the despatch the online form asked for the shipper and consignee to be the same person.
6. Now that the luggage has arrived I can't pick it up for 6 weeks because I'm unable to go to the airport. I need to either pay for a legal document to be drawn up for my husband to collect it or wait until I can walk again.
7. They also fined me £100l because I didn't know that there was an aerosol in my luggage. I had not been told. What does the airline do with aerosols? Well if it is in your hand luggage, they throw it away, if it is in the luggage it's ok. But I still had to pay the fine because I didn't have a crystal ball to know that 6 months ago I had placed an aerosol in my bag.
Absolutely disgraceful service.
I'm sure Tudor will respond with a mile long reply which I will not bother to even look at, let alone read.Read more

We are sorry to read that you were unhappy with your experience, particularly given the circumstances you described at the time.
For the benefit of anyone reading this review, we feel it is important to clarify the sequence of events surrounding this shipment.
Before the shipment was sent, the original shipper’s inventory submitted to us showed different people listed as the consignor and consignee. As international shipments are subject to destination customs requirements, we contacted you and advised that this should be checked with the customs authorities in Iran before the goods were sent. A revised inventory was then submitted three days later showing the same person as both consignor and consignee, and the shipment proceeded on that basis.
In relation to the aerosol referred to in this review, the signed shipper’s inventory requires the shipper/consignee to confirm that the consignment does not contain any dangerous or hazardous goods. Aerosols are classified as restricted items in personal effects air shipments and cannot travel in this type of consignment. Once the item was identified, the charge applied was not a fee imposed by Tudor International Freight, but a charge raised by the cargo handling agents at the airport for removing the prohibited item from the shipment prior to airline acceptance.
With regard to collection arrangements in Tehran, we provided the relevant shipment details and the contact information for the cargo handling agents in Iran. We also made contact on multiple occasions regarding collection of the goods. We appreciate that collection was more difficult because of the circumstances described in your review, but the requirement for the consignee or an authorised representative to complete local collection formalities is a destination requirement rather than something controlled by Tudor International Freight.
We accept that this was a frustrating shipment from your point of view. However, it is important to note that the documentation issue was raised before shipping, and the additional charge arose only after a prohibited item was found in the consignment.
