Firstly, they are polite on the surface but overall quite difficult to deal with. They use high-pressure tactics to force you into making decisions in a very rushed manner. They don't actually do the move--they outsource it and just take a huge profit, raising the costs but providing little extra value. They are extremely pushy and then on the day you need them, they are no where to be found. They also took nearly a week longer than the maximum amount of time quoted for delivery, without even an apology or acknowledgement. They said 1-2 weeks, it took about three.
The furniture items arrived badly scratched.
Finally, the most important, tangible problem is that they way OVER estimated the amount of space that would be needed for the items I listed (I even gave measurements). By nearly double. That meant twice the price, half the things (I had to throw out a lot because I couldn't afford to ship at their rates, but it turns out, I could have shipped everything I owned plus more). The stress, costs, and loss of personal possessions born out of this move were massive, all due to GMS.

Overall I had no major issues with this company! They were really helpful in answering any silly questions I had and had a quick response time. Everyone I spoke to over the phone was incredibly friendly and helpful too. Lost two stars because I wasn't made aware of (until quite late in the game) a couple of extra charges which would have been handy for me to factor into my moving budget, which was pretty tight. When the time arrived, the movers were absolutely fantastic and worked swiftly and efficiently. My goods arrived safely in 8 days. This was a small part load move for them.

Left it till 3 days before the move to let us know our furniture would not be arriving until a month later.
They changed the pick up date from the original date and we therefore assumed it would be there like the first time we used them on an agreed date,consequently we have a house and nothing 6o put in it.No apology just thry were very busy.Don't accept jobs you can't fulfill.

GMS claimed from the beginning, they would accommodate our moving date. That was not the case. We asked for storage as well, seeing as our things would get to the destination country before us. Our moving manager was clueless about finding storage for us as we requested! She asked us if we had found storage in which case we were in the process of it as GMS dropped the ball. It was a stressful time moving to another country during a pandemic and felt GMS never assured us even on the 11th hour about the whole process.

He was up against tough odds to get my shipment to me given the circumstances and he handled it all so smoothly. No one minds delays if they are handled as professionally as they were in my case. Goods arrived in good condition. They were packed well and unpacked upon arrival.

Although we were looking to move during Covid and the world was totally different and we had just left the EU. The whole experience was very very good, people were always contactable and were able to guide us through the process. The guys that actually carried out the move were really efficient, helpful and really nice. Sending us pictures of the house etc.
They were not the cheapest but they were definatly the best.

I had the most upsetting experience with this company. The company is not trustworthy.
The company was transferring items from France to England after my mother and father had just passed away a few weeks before. Among these items was a flat pack containing a minimum of 3 paintings drawn by my deceased father. The pack was included in the pick up listing but has not been found to this day. The operations manager has apparently searched high and low for the missing pack and assured me it must have been delivered. In fact I can only assume it has been STOLEN. These paintings have a great sentimental value to my daughters and granddaughters.
Next week I am reporting the theft to the police as I have not heard from the company since my last email.

What an incredible experience. Moving from France to Vancouver was so stressful, but all of GMS staff were simply wonderful. I had the most terrible experience with them for moving my personal items from Brussels to Liverpool.
I was promised (on a Monday) that my stuff will be collected on Wednesday and will be delivered the next Tuesday.
The boxes were not collected on Wednesday, and I was told on Friday that my items will be collected on the next Tuesday and will be delivered up to 8 days.

I contacted their costumer service and complained. Not only I did not receive an apology, but also I was blamed that I did not provide them the Transfer of Residence (TOR) form. However, they asked for the TOR form on Wednesday, which was already to late for the collection. Moreover, I had applied for TOR form myself before they even mention it.

Furthermore, it has been more than 16 days that I am waiting for the refund, since I cancelled the service.

I realized that they start by promising a very fast and smooth service. But then you are bombarded with dozens of emails answering questions and filling out several forms.

We have checked our records and found that you have been refunded for the service. As for the other issue stated in your review we do ask that documentation is detailed at the time of booking and is normally required by the date of collection to ensure that there is no delay with the service. If there is anything else we can do to rectify this situation please don't hesitate to contact our customer service team.
GMS picked up our stuff 3 months ago. It's still in UK and they want even more money to give our stuff back!! They cannot give a timeframe about when they will ship the items and are hiding behind T&C that basically give them an unlimited period of time (could be years) before they send the items, after estimating 3 months to delivery. This is clearly unfair trading practice and unfair trading terms.

Full service experience that went above and beyond other companies regarding communication. While price was equivalent with other options, it was the responsive of my move manager that made everything smooth. I was often getting an answer back in 15 minutes or less! That alone made the whole process much less stressful.

Everything was arranged normally and overall it was a pleasant experience. I felt that the managerial staff is a bit disconnected with the actual delivery crews. Also, the delivery crew asked for arranging a parking slot for the delivery, which sounded a bit awkward for a foreigner to arrange a slot in the UK, the home country for the company.
On a positive side, the service was punctual and the delivery team even helped carrying over very heavy furniture up to a second floor.

I received a very good service with excellent communication at a competitive price, and in the challenging circumstances of the very early times after the end of the Brexit transition phase. My dedicated removal manager was extremely helpful.

All fine to start with then moving day comes and they had underestimated the size of the load. We had to leave furniture and lost in the region of £400 worth. No alternative offered to move the goods.
Following this, it was impossible to get hold of anyone - all emails / calls were ignored.
When the goods arrived at the house in the UK, they also delivered a bag destined for someone else - and again, emails were ignored.
I would certainly recommend not using this company. Awful customer service if there is a problem.

The initial selling service was very efficient by [name removed by Sirelo] and told everything was done in-house, but when it came to the actual move, they used a sub-contracted packing firm who broke a very expensive glass unit and didn’t pack things properly as we had so many damaged goods. Delivery in the UK was by a sub-contracted removal firm (who we actually got a quote from when looking for a company). Also don’t use GMS insurance, you can get a much cheaper goods in transit policy which we took out ourselves. For what the removal cost it was a dire service and I would never recommend them. When challenged about their level of service they weren’t interested.

Everyone throughout the organising, collecting and transporting were helpful, polite, punctual and went out of their way to facilitate a difficult French storage company. The removal side was good when both men eventually arrived, one was 4 hours late. The first man to arrive didn't speak/understand English and had not received any instructions so we had to wait 4 hours for the second man for things to get going. We were fortunate we didnt have to leave the UK on the same day otherwise we would got stuck because of the delay.
They were fast loading the 2 vans and organised. We were not there to receive the delivery in France on the following day but delivery man kept in contact by phone, they arrived early and unloaded quickly.
Nothing was missing and the boxes and units were well stacked in the space we provided, however we noticed some cupboards had small chips on them and some heavier boxes were sitting on top of lighter ones. I would advise anyone to wrap up/protect their furniture themselves.
Overall I would say a good company that I would recommend.

I received all of the documentation I needed to fill out in plenty of time, GMS showed patience and understanding that I was not able to return everything at once.

The only problem I experienced was that the time for the pickup of my items was altered a few times for logistical reasons and some negotiation with the driver was necessary as I had planned the rest of that day and week around the pickup time I had been advised, and alteration could have been extremely inconvenient.

The pickup and delivery went very smoothly and everything has arrived in good condition despite almost a month on the road! The lorry drivers used at both ends were very pleasant to deal with.

We moved to Switzerland from the UK 1 week ago, Switzerland is very tight with regulations, GMS were fantastic, they helped immensely when we had issues with the residency permit at customs, and the company they use for the actual delivery of good 'EUROPEAN REMOVAL SERVICES' were amazing. We moved half of our belongings on a day which ended up falling on a bank holiday for UK. Our goods were held at customs, and we had no way of maying the temporary fee to get our belongings through the border. [name removed by Sirelo] (one of the owners of EUROPEAN REMOVAL SERVICES was actually on holiday, ran back to his hotel and used their corporate funds to secure the payment to the border control). This allowed us to get our belongings to our property on time with no additional fee's asked for, those guys were excellent. I would highly recommend them. GMS also made sure that we got the rest of our belongings (we underestimated how much we had) to us within 5 days, arranging [name removed by Sirelo] company EUROPEAN REMOVAL SERVICES to quickly collect and bring what we needed at a great price. The whole removal experience relocating from the UK to Switzerland with COVID restrictions and 2 kids was stressful, to say the least, these guys helped to keep that stress down significantly. GMS provided competitive pricing and great engagement at the customer representative level. The inventory-taking exercise via video-touring the house, however, led to a hiccup in estimating the volume of our goods. Therefore, the amount of time and truck size that was allotted for the move were both insufficient. GMS reacted rapidly to dispatch an extra van at no cost, which was both convenient and considerate. The movers were courteous and professional. The packaging was broadly very good, but we had some broken glasses/frames. We also had two delivery destinations and not all boxes were labeled properly, so, there were some mix ups. But overall the service was good, responsive and accommodating -- especially since considering our move took place during Covid-19.

We tried 6 different companies to move from France during the C19 lockdown period. All the other companies had too many difficult conditions and added charges and their customer service was OK to poor.

[name removed by Sirelo] at GMS was genuinely interested in our needs, offered great advice and was completely flexible.

Within a day of booking two lads ([names removed by Sirelo]) arrived to complete an assessment of our load and access - they just happened to be nearby and 'dropped in'. They left us with some materials and advised us on how to prepare our packing. We had 5 days to get it all together as we were able to slot into an empty return trip.

The uplift day ran very smoothly, [names removed by Sirelo] arrived early, set about their business - socially distant all the time - and were packed and gone in an amazing time frame. They took great care of our antique furniture and spent time getting the load right for the trip to the UK.

The delivery 6 days later was equally as smooth and they took great care with our newly painted walls and door frames and the unpacking of all our things. Nothing was damaged/broken or misplaced.

We would recommend GMS to anyone (and in fact our buyers are taking up our recommendation and getting GMS to move them to France).

After video assessment of cm2 I received a quote. I dealt with an agent and explained the possibility of having to use storage in Burnley and later the access situation to the new property. No problem he said as GMS would use a smaller vehicle and do more than one run.
Later after collection the video estimate was 50% out and GMS asked for 50% more for the move. I said that I didn't think the video estimate was correct.
Then after lockdown restrictions were lifted I was asked for an extra £400 as they would have to arrange for a transfer vehicle due to access restrictions!!

The staff who collected and delivered the contents were very helpful and professional. I understand that Covid-19 caused issues but I feel that I was ripped of by the management of GMS who would not consider that their representative knew the issues before my move but still charged me over £1500 more than the initial contract fee.

We needed to relocate back to the UK after losing my job in Germany due to Covid 19. This was a quick turnaround and highly stressful due to lockdown restrictions increasing by the day. I experienced no complications at all and dealing with GMS was easy and even fun. It was a slight shock when, two days before the move, the movers in Germany announced they would arrive 24 hours earlier than planned, but I was ready for them and they were happy to help pack the last bits of my stuff. In the end I had a very good and relatively stress free experience. Would recommend highly.

Company was great before the sales decision was made. Absolutely horrible afterwards. On the day of packing, two packers showed up without a the necessary elevator. Had to waste the day waiting for it to arrive.

Delivery was also several hours late, was told that they would arrive at 9:00 am, did not arrive til midday, causing the unpacking to go very late. Sofa would not fit up stairs, had to wait nearly two weeks for re-delivery. Miscommunication on service being provided upon redelivery, refused to take any action to correct. Had single individual delivering a sofa, which resulted in it being damaged.

Uk side very good. Total chaos in USA. Poor communication. Delays. Hart adding to pay additional custom charges bit no information about who to pay it to, resulting in missing payment deadline and incurring additional $130 costs. Then no explanation for why delivery didn’t happen on specified date and we had to wait a further 6 days to receive our possessions. Then delivery made by 2 men who wanted to rush back and 2 casual men who were paid $13 for an hours work. No unpacking or removal of packaging as is promised in pricing. I am appalled. Needless to say, no one has asked for feedback. Top tip- choose a different company for your move as they haven’t vetted the us company they loaisetwithband they are shockingly bad.

- Firstly our things were picked up a day earlier than I was told from GMS. This led to a lot of stress as we had to pack a whole house in 1-2 hours. My partner had even taken the day off to pack and GMS turned up in the morning not in the afternoon as I was told.
- Then our things were delivered a lot later than the estimated time I was told, eg 6 weeks later. We had to buy a lot of basic things to live with until our things came, costing us close to £1000.
- When our things arrived, we found that some things were missing. A chair, cane basket (that was in a box with some clothes), a toy rabbit. They also tried to deliver a rug that wasn't ours and I gave it back to them! 😨
- The boxes were also quite messy so whoever went through (customs?) threw our belongings back in the boxes in a very messy state. As much as we packed quickly, I still put things somewhat neatly in the boxes.
- There was a lot of broken kitchen stuff and a nice coffee table was quite damaged.
- Our most valuable box wasn't delivered and I was initially told it was lost, but then it turned up a week later thankfully.
- The insurance is cheap and wouldn't cover my coffee table that was scratched and dented and a few other missing things even though they were on the collection list.

The guys who came to pack did a thorough job, everything clearly labelled and very efficient. At the other end the guys who delivered it were great and even commented that out of all the stuff they had to move from the container mine was the best packed and most clearly marked which made their job easier.

Everything was intact and electronics including a 55' OLED all work fine.Only wish I'd added more things like all my tools etc. to the shipping.

Communication of delivery etc. was all good and it arrived within the expected window and any requests for updates were met with a prompt response.

GMS made the move very easy. We dealt with [name removed by Sirelo] who always got back to us very quickly with exactly the information I needed. I got quotes from 5 different international removal companies and at first GMS seemed one of the more expensive ones. When you worked it out per cubic meter, they were one of the cheapest and many of the other companies didn't quote for enough space. GMS were upfront from the start, competitive pricing and efficient. The move in the UK was easy and they carefully packed up all of our belongings, with a polite and friendly team. The UAE bit was easy too, unpacking and assembling our furniture, taking care of our items. The time quoted was also accurate, from leaving our home in the UK to our new home in Abu Dhabi. My experience with Global Moving Services Reviews was horrible. The salesperson I dealt with forgot to follow up on my import docs (despite my calls/emails) so they left my furniture rot in their warehouse for weeks. Rather than acknowledge their mistake and at least apologize, the customer support manager sent me a copy of their T&C alongside a pompous email stating that I have no recourse. I have looked into your file and can note that our operations team did chase you for your documentation and received no response for some time. Documentation is detailed at the time of booking and is normally required by the date of collection to ensure that there is no delay with the service. Looking over your file I can see that this is the primary cause of the delays to your shipment and it is unfortunate that this minor element can often lead to a chain reaction and larger delay than envisionsed, in the same way one being 30 minutes late for a doctors appointment may lead to one having to rebook for 2 weeks later; we accept this is extremely disappointing but it can often be the unfortunate nature of things.

I can assure you that in any event where this happens the goods are secured safely within a temperature controlled facility and are not likely to decompose, we take great care in our clients belongings and d ue to our duty of care in this instance the storage element here is completely free of charge whilst we await the next available sailing.

This was one of the most expensive quotes I received and yet the service was quite poor. The company was not transparent about the fact that they did not carry out the move themselves but they hired sub-contractors. I did not get a 24h notice on the pick up date (as stated in the contract) but a bit over 1h notice. More importantly I payed extra to have two people at collection but the driver alone showed up, which meant we had to help him loading the truck. I was quite disconcerted when I got an email the following day from my assigned move manager saying she was going to confirm my pick up date soon (!) Hence she clearly had no clue where my stuff were.. When I presented her with all these issues she blamed me for having requested a specific week for the move and said this was the only option available! On the positive side, all my stuff were delivered within 14 days (as stated in the contract) overall in good conditions. The blankets they provided to wrap up the furniture however had a strong gasoline smell and my furniture still smell bed although it has been a few days since delivery.

An efficient packing collection service from Germany although initially the crew arrived later than expected. They dismantled one furniture item very carefully and loaded their vehicle in a professional manner. The delivery to the UK was first class from Thursday 2pm the vehicle arrived at 10.30am on following Saturday. Unloading and storing in a temporary location was excellently completed within an hour.

The move from Paris to the U.S. was complicated bye a number of factors -- July move date, terrible heat in Paris, city center location with difficult access, etc. -- but [name removed by Sirelo] took the entire matter in hand and found us a local agent who was superb. Their French personnel were on time, responsible, and rapid on move day, and the whole operation was as painless as possible.

Painless move from Italy to Australia. We used their packing & unpacking service and it was professionally done. We moved furniture and a number of fragile items; about an apartment size move. The fragile items were all packed really well & survived the trip. We weren’t there to supervise the packing however we can vouch for the quality of it as we were there for the unpacking. The company cleared the goods on our behalf and all went smoothly. Recommended.

Everything was straightforward & fairly simple, which is what I needed as I was not on the ground in London. Communication was easy & regular & luckily paperwork (move was within EU, for now) was kept to a minimum. My stuff arrived when I was told it would (even though they initially got the wrong street). No hesitation in recommending them to anyone else.

First of all, they sent only two men for the packing which was definitly an underestimate for the work required to pack our household. Consequently, the movers were exhausted by the second day and did a a very poor job packing ; the furniture that was not export wrapped was just thrown into the truck with no care, and the contents of our household thrown into boxes with no organization and care. Of course when the furniture arrived at its destination 60% of the items had some sort of damage, and unpacking was very distressing. I do not recommend this moving company .

They collected the furniture, which was supposed to be wrapped with blankets (only very few things were; the rest was all covered with plastic = same as nothing). They only wrapped with blankets a few items. Delivery was even worse. I was supposed to be notified at least 24 hours before the delivery. I got notified that they would come the same afternoon I had sent them an email asking (after a lot of drama, they even didn’t come that day). Also, they charged me extra £380 because the truck could not fit nearby... they don’t actually check anything and don’t even say the size of the truck. It’s all up to the customer, who of course, is charged if the truck doesn’t fit (as if the customer is an expert). Additionally, the tv, a lamp and a mirror were broken (combined with several scratches in the “wrapped with blankets” furniture). The insurance only gave us £133 back (the total service was £2000). Not recommended at all!

The customer service from our moving coordinator was excellent, any question got answered and reassurance given. Could not wish for better moving guys. Their attention to the detail and their approach was excellent. They contacted us day before to give us the timeframes and once the van was loaded they shared their location and kept in touch with us.
