AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!
The move out of our house went absolutely fine, and Bristol First Removals seemed OK at that point. However when it came to moving into our new property, they arrived late, were impossible to get hold of throughout our move-in day, and then we only had a two man team for the whole move. The removers were complaining throughout about how far away we'd moved. We'd booked for furniture to be assembled and yet the team arrived without tools - we had to dig through boxes in order to be able to get our bed built for the night. Our dining table was badly damaged in the move, and some other furniture damaged, which was commented on by the removers at the time. Despite the fact that we took out extra insurance for furniture damage, Bristol First Removals have avoided my many emails and phone calls regarding this, not progressed with an insurance claim, and offered no resolution. Generally a pretty rough experience.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

We used Bristol 1st Removals on 25th March 2024. Moving is an expensive time and Bristol 1st Removals offered a very competitive quote. I found the whole experience highly stressful and Bristol 1st Removals were responsible for the awful experience and their terrible customer service since. The days itself and our movers in particular brought the overriding feelings of lack of confidence, care and professionalism that at times left us leaving the room or “watching through our fingers” at some points in disbelief.
When the movers arrived they seemed quite agitated. They told us they had been sat outside of the wrong house, they weren’t impressed that they had been given the job with all the stairs (I then felt guilty for living in a flat), they stated they had no tools and did I have any? I had limited tools so they left to collect tools and returned.
We had packed and moved the majority of our belongings so they were left with only larger items outlined in our quote. They ran in to trouble getting a Sofa out of Bedroom 1, after quite a long time of trying with enough force to remove wood from the door frame and transfer paint on to the legs of the sofa the door was removed from its hinges and the legs removed from the sofa by ripping the upholstery on the underside. I was told to just remove the paint from the legs with WD40. This was a piece of furniture with sentimental value from my parents home that had been restored for me. I found this very upsetting to watch. This was clearly agitating the mover, who was stressing that this was putting them behind time. I was left to return to the property to put the door back on its hinges.
The mover dropped his phone and it broke, he was obviously upset about this along with cutting his finger and continually told us what a terrible day he was having.
When we got to our new home we felt very rushed and the movers left very quickly. Again care and attention was not applied. Since then and we have continued to unpack we are still finding damage. Examples of this being dents, marks and blood on walls, the corner missing from one unit, a couple of chips from a mirrored chest of drawers and clear evidence of furniture being dragged rather than carried.
Two weeks following our move we discovered our spare bed had not been reassembled properly, the plates on the base had not been screwed back together and of the 12 screws required, 8 were missing. I had by chance picked up 4 screws from a windowsill in our previous house that had been left behind. I can only assume as the movers could not locate these (even though I provided an envelope for them as they had nothing to put them in when were disassembled). They had just placed the mattress on top and left. Unfortunately these are not standard screws and we have been unable to replace them.
I have complained to Bristol 1st Removals, it took three weeks and numerous calls and e-mails to get them to visit and see the damage. At that point I was told the bed would be fixed, and my sofa collected for repair and pictures were taken of the rest of the damage. A further three weeks passed where I initiated phone calls, e-mails and text messages and I was assured it was in hand. It is now 11 weeks since we have moved, I still have a bed held together with cable ties, a damaged sofa and no response from Bristol 1st Removals. I have started the process of small claims court.
We put our trust in “Bristol’s Professional Removal & Storage Company” and have been left extremely disappointed in the treatment we have received and in all good conscience could not recommend their services to anybody.

Would not recommend AT ALL! Very unprofessional, horrible customer service and even worse execution. The Manager in charge was extremely rude and unbothered, constantly escalating an already tense and stressful situation, especially with my wife who was very upset at the poor service.

They damaged one of our wardrobes because they couldn't be bothered to disassemble it (even though we paid extra for flatpack) and then proceeded to say it was from IKEA and therefore very cheap and not suitable for reassembly more than once. Even though someone came round to do a physical survey and assured us there would be no issues. We have not been compensated for the damage till this day despite paying for extra insurance. Also, the tv, microwave and some furniture that went into their van came out very dirty and it was only a 7 minute drive.

They were meant to bring in our bar piano but at the first sign of difficulty, they said it could not be done (claiming their several 'years of experience' in moving) and said for them to even attempt it any further, we would have to sign a special waiver absolving them of any damage to the piano. When we refused, they left it in the garage. We eventually paid extra for professional piano movers who got in done in twenty minutes with zero damage to the piano.

All in all, it was a terrible experience. To be fair to the two workmen, they were slightly more reasonable, however, whenever we asked a question, they always sent us back to the manager and he set the tone for the horrible experience. The workmen simply followed his lead and eventually aligned with his bad behaviour. At the end of it, he didn't come to us to say they were going, he didn't ask if we were satisfied. The manager just stormed off into his van in a huff, it was the workmen that had the decency to say they were done and goodbye.

If you are looking for cheap, nasty and unprofessional service, then look no further! I totally regret using this company. A masterclass in atrocious customer service. It's no wonder they're not on Trust Pilot, they would be absolutely skinned!

'If you’re looking for a company that makes promises it can’t keep, then this is the company for you. They took five days to put my son’s bed together, which should have been done on the same day as unloading the house boxes. On the last day, two men came to finish the job but were unable to do so because there were ‘too many screws’. Fortunately, one gentleman came later and was able to complete the job manually. Additionally, having only one person pack up my 4 bedroom house and garage was not good time management.
I also used their cleaning service for end-of-tenancy cleaning but was not satisfied with the results. If you’re considering using their cleaning service, don’t bother as your state agent will charge you £100 less for doing it again. When I contacted [Name removed by Sirelo] about this issue, he refused to refund me for the cleaning service because I had been happy on the day of service. However, I would not recommend their cleaning service as I believe them to do the standards as promised and didn't have time to go from room to room checking all standards.
Overall, I would not recommend this company due to my negative experiences with their services.'

Do not use this company. They lost items of furniture, delivered other people's furniture to my house and much was damaged or dirty when in storage. I could not get any compensation and it cost me hundreds of pounds to replace items AVOID at all costs
