Nur wenige Tage nach der 10% Anzahlung wurden wir aufgefordert, den Rest zu bezahlen (entgegen der Vereinbarung, dies 'näher der Zeit' zu erledigen - wir buchten ca. 1.5 Monate vor der Zustellung). Nach der Bezahlung war keinerlei Kontakt mehr mit der Firma möglich und Mails blieben unbeantwortet. Am Tag der vermuteten Abholung, auf die wir bis dahin nur hoffen konnten, wurden wir über die genaue Uhrzeit der Abholung von einer Subfirma (Abels), von der wir bis dato nichts wussten, informiert. Alles lief reibungslos. - soweit - Es war mit Pearson vereinbart, die sachen in einem Lagerhaus für 20 Tage zu halten, bis wir sie in UK entgegennehmen konnten. Nach der Abholung wussten wir wieder nichts, weder ob die Güter gut in UK angekommen sind, noch ob der ursprüngliche Zustellungstermin, 20. Oktober, bestehen bleibt. Keine Kontaktaufnahme möglich, weder durch Telefon noch durch Mail. Nur wenige Tage vor Zustellung der Anruf von der Abholerfirma Abels, Pearson sei konkurs gegangen und unsere Sachen im Lagerhaus von Abels. Telefonate mit BDA und anderen. Um den Umzug zu einem verspäteten Zeitpunkt mit Abels durchzuführen, mussten wir einen neuen Vertrag mit ihnen machen und natürlich auch noch einmal den Umzug bezahlen. Derzeit versuchen wir gerade das Geld von Pearson zurückzufordern - mit schwindend geringen Erfolgsaussichten.
Abels hat eine sehr professionelle Arbeit verrichtet und konnte zwar vespätet dem ursprünglichen Datum, doch einen Tag früher als mit uns vereinbart durch Abels, durchführen.
Die Schweinerei ist jedoch, das Pearson bereits wusste, in konkurs zu gehen und deswegen auch noch schnell versuchte, nur ein Wochenende nach der Buchung das ganze Geld von uns einzufordern, entgegen der Ursprünglichen Vereinbarung, in der wir noch einige Wochen länger Zeit gehabt hätten, alles zu bezahlen.

I would give less but it is not possible. At the time of moving out from Newcastle, when we were supposed to take all of our stuff (45 cub m ) to Hong Kong, the initial sales contact was great. The packing up was 'ok' and all seemed good.
When we moved it all out of storage and into a house in Scotland 16 months later, they turned up late, with two very large, unfit and lazy guys - who spent more time gabbing, standing around and complaining about the size of our consignment than actually doing the job. They also had the cheek to ask us if we wanted them to unpack!!
When I looked at the lorry I thought it was a bit small to contain all of our stuff, but they said that was everything. We ended up doing most of the unpacking and so we did not at the time tick off the number of every box, but after they had gone I found some things missing. Since then I have been trying through e-mails and phone calls to get some response to follow up. I now find out that they have gone to the wall, and I have no idea how to follow up for my missing stuff. Thought all this was supposed to be protected against such events.

Blaming their payment system and busy period etc etc. Do not believe a word of that they say. I have tried to contact several people in Pearson but everybody has the same arrogant attiture. DO NOT USE THEM. FIND A HONEST COMPANY. Our next step is the police.

We used Pearson to move from Scotland to Canada over the summer. At first the service seemed great. The lady we were in contact with was very responsive and quick to turn around the quote.
We moved our entire house content but had no clue as to what the actual volume could be. Pearson estimated it for us based on photos of our furniture as provided by us. The quote was for 16 m3 and the cost just over £4k, which was competitive. On the moving day, 3 movers turned up at the house and started packing. By lunchtime, it became clear that the volume had been grossly underestimated and the supervisor called his office for assistance. 3 additional movers came minutes later but that wasn't enough and the supervisor had to call yet again for help. They finished packing at 6.30pm with 9 guys... The verdict: 30 m3. Double what had been supposedly estimated by Pearson, therefore double the cost. Obviously at that time, our options were very limited as we had to return the keys of the property to hit the road immediately. No choice but to pay the extra cost.
Pearson had also estimated that the shipment would take 30 days to arrive in country (West coast of Canada). Based on this information, we bought our flight tickets to arrive at destination the day before so we could clear our goods with the customs. It turns out it took 47 days in total rather than 30. My wife, 2 young kids and I spent 17 days in a house empty of all furniture and goods. I would not recommend this experience to anyone. I fail to understand how the duration was so grossly underestimated, unless it was intentional.
When contacted, Pearson did not even apologise for the delay and declined my request for a rebate (I asked them to pay a $300 port fee), when I paid double the price for the service and did not even get my container on time!!
My recommendations to anyone moving long distance:
1. Do not use Pearson. Long distance moves are stressful and costly enough without this kind of unpleasant surprises. Pick a company that can be trusted. Pearson is clearly not amongst that list.
2. Make sure the volume is right by requesting a property inspection by a company representative.
3. Make the moving company commit to the volume and delivery time and consider penalties in the event the delivery is significantly late or the volume above what had been estimated. In other words, cover your back.

I provided the packaging myself to move from UK to Spain. I prepared 52 boxes, all numbered and prepared in order to the ground floor and disassembled two beds. The company had to dismantle a double bed, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers, carry two twin crystal tables, a few small pieces of furniture, two sofas, a nearly new three-seater. Unfortunately, one of the twin crystal tables (the biggest one) has been destroyed, the drawer damaged irreparably and above all the three-seater pierced sofa and with a lost pillow so unusable (I'm still awaiting the outcome after almost two searches months). The refund of £ 40 per item obviously can not compensate for the damage. For the rest, kindness and availability from the team (I expressed my appreciation for the way they behaved during the first load at my house). The information that the move would have undergone various loads and discharges in order to adapt to the needs of the couriers was missing in the initial phase.

Our family was moving to Spain after 22 years in the UK, which was not only emotional but complex. I did a lot of research online to find a good company and I came across Pearsons.
I can’t say enough good things about the Pearson’s teams (all of them) particularly [name removed by Sirelo], the sales manager that took extremely good care of all the service. She may work for Pearsons, but I really felt that she was working for me and with me.
From the sales team, who were professional, understanding, carrying and friendly, to the collection and the delivery guys, everyone was faultless. The delivery guys were calling me on route from Spain updating me on traveling progress to make sure we didn't have to wait. It was just faultless.
The entire experience has been fantastic. I always felt treated as their only customer. Everyone, even before they met me, knew my name, were extremely polite and accommodating. The updates and regular calls came often and fluidly. The communication was excellent. The service overall it is a 10 out of 10.
Great people, great company, great experience. My advice, do ignore the negative reviews that appear on Google and engage these guys any time. It will be money well spent and you will have a fantastic experience if it is only half as good as mine.

Guys were nice but they said they could not repack all the goods for export there so would take back to depot to pack properly. 12 weeks later Oct 2017 goods arrived and dinning table scratched and bedside tables smashed as only lighly wrapped. We opened boxes with China plates and glasses not even wrapped put placed in a box and broken. The delivery team told us just take the photos and send to shipper as they didnt repack the boxes correctly. April 2018 Chris Fellows agreed to pay £40 per item. July & Aug 2018 they stopped reponding to my emails and still havent paid or explained why they never packed my goods for export. Disgrace how they treat customer and keep delaying and delaying to hope i give up. Sent over a 100 emails. They treat their customers like dirt.

I have moved all over the world but my move with Pearson was by far the best from start to finish, in fact I am completely shocked by any negative comments I have since seen from others hence why I wanted to share my positive experience! As an experienced international mover I always expect a few damages here and there and completely understand this is inevitable moving stuff such a long way but I didn't even have this problem with Pearson, not so much as a single glass was broken and I believe this is down to the very high quality of packing they provided! The crew were fantastic at both collection and delivery as were the office staff! I shall definitely be using Pearson again next time we are on the move!

The moving company sub-contracted the job to another smaller company, so indeed the only service offered by Pearson was the availability of the call agent who 'managed' our move. The price quoted initially seemed lower than others and reviews were descent, so we opted for them. HOWEVER, the delivery date was promised to be within 7-14 day, and our belongings arrived only in 30 days' time!!!! We were notified of this delay that was'outside of their control' only after our boxes were picked up, we lived without any furniture or clothes for a month total! Our move was between UK and Italy, so it's just unacceptable for 2,000+ GBP. Finally, before agreeing on the contract, we sent photos of the street in Italy to our agent, who was supposed to 'evaluate' access to our building, he said it'd be fine. Then, the week they were supposed to arrive, we got worried about their plan to park a 15 m long vehicle on our street. Of course, WE were then charged extra for them renting a smaller van to drop off our belongings. I felt that the move and the terms were poorly handled, and the process was not transparent at all. This is just a business and the sales agents just need to book as many jobs as they can (fair enough), so do your research first and remember that, in the end, you will be the one thinking and worrying about all the details, oh, and paying also 2,000 GBP! The positive thing is at least nothing was lost or damaged!

I moved with my partner from Birmingham to the South of France in March 2018. I initially contacted a handful of removal companies in order to receive quotes on both single and group removals. By the end, I found that Pearson gave the best quote for a group removal at around £2000. A single removal would have been about double this price. However we were extremely satisfied with the group removal. Pearson phone you the Friday before the week of the collection to confirm which date the removal men will arrive to pick up your things (they can only give a rough estimate before then because of the varying nature of each collection and delivery location week by week). Later on, on the day of the collection, Pearson emailed me to say the expected delivery day in France was Tuesday which was ideal for us.
Joshua from Pearson was extremely helpful throughout the process. I could contact him either by phone or email with a million questions and he would answer them all. His quotes for the removal and the insurance (which is an optional extra) were speedy. He gave me information about a few weeks worth of collection and delivery dates as far as he was able, so that I could consider how likely my stuff would arrive at the beginning of the week as opposed to the end. His customer service was excellent. He took a look at both properties on Google maps at my request so that he could consider access to the property beforehand. He arranged a shuttle service in France when he considered that the articulated lorry would not be able to access the house through the narrow roads. As long as this sort of thing is considered within the quote, he assured me that there will be no added costs to the customer which was indeed true.
On the day of the collection a different company arrived (Pearson contract work out to other companies to collect and deliver). Two men moved all of our furniture and boxes within about 5 hours. We were able to continue packing the rest of our things whilst they managed the first lot of stuff. The men were very friendly and professional. They took items such as coffee tables and large wooden objects into the truck and wrapped them in blankets. All the smaller stuff we had already packed into boxes. They had to manage our upright piano, 8 foot sofa, and 7 foot fridge/freezer which they did without problem. They have their own labels to indicate whose belongings go where on the day of the move to France so that they do not get things mixed up on the group move.
The same company as the one who collected our things delivered to us in France (naturally) . Unfortunately on the Tuesday they had trouble getting their articulated lorry through the small French town (the French have strict laws on lorry access) and they had to park up outside the town then loan another van to move all of our things from the lorry to the house. Because it was then dark they had to deliver the next morning, which they did promptly at 8:30 am. This was not really a problem for us, we muddled through, and the delivery men kept us informed. When they did arrive one of the delivery men in particular was very friendly, funny and did the job perfectly. I think they were done within 2 or 3 hours. They placed everything in the rooms which I wanted them in. They were very confident that absolutely everything had been delivered to us that was ours, and they were right. They were very professional and courteous and did a splendid job. All of our things were in fine condition.
I would absolutely go with Pearson again for any future moves. I cannot think of a single thing that was wrong. The contract was very clear and I was told how the insurance policy worked. As long as your not so anal that you need things at a specific hour on a specific day and will be able to deal with minor unexpected things, then you will be happy with the service. My things were moved and undamaged which was the main thing that I cared about.
The cost was reasonable and there were no unexpected added costs at the end (ensure you read the contract and ask about stuff like packing etc. They would charge extra if they were to pack your things themselves for example, but if you ask about these thi

There was one small delay in the schedule due to access and it getting dark. For the sake of the safety of the removal men however it was worth them waiting overnight to deliver our things. This was not a problem.

They haven't labelled any box properly and mixed everything that it was a really nightmare to find anything.

2 things the 1st one is certainly linked to the international moving business but it was very frustating. In the period of time given by us for the moving from France, the UK agency didn't propose but simply impose a date without any possibility to change. We were trapped and obliged to pay someone to be there to let the movers proceed to the moving.
The 2nd one is the actual bad quality of the packing carried out by the team in France. One vase (500g) was packed together with the sewing machine (10kg) without any protection so the vase is broken; half of the paint have the glass broken due to poor packing. Even the top of the coffee table made of marble was scratched in two places due to the lack of protection. Also the books were placed in the boxes but the empty spaces were not filled so many books were damaged. This prestation is not professional at all.

The moving manager, Joshua, was very interested in my custom without being pushy in any sort of way. I didn’t have much time to organise the move, so he was very swift in getting everything sorted for me in time. The movers were great: friendly, efficient and very careful with my belongings. They arrived early at both destinations. Absolutely everything went well, there was no hassle in any sort of way.

There is nothing to fault about their customer service. Move manager was very professional and was always ready to help. Questions were answered quickly and updates were always provided promptly. The move went extremely smoothly. I had some issues with their partner company for delivery but nothing too stressful.

The collection in the uk was very good, very professional and very personable team. That’s why the review gets a 2 rather than a 0.
The guys that turned up in France were grumpy to say the least. In fact they were incredibly rude. Their main complaint was they didn’t have the right equipment to off load the very heavy Esse stove, which was part of the inventory and they should’ve known was there. When they spotted it they became abusive and basically said “I’m not fu***ng moving that, so how do you plan to get it off my lorry?”. Having been persuaded that was their job not ours they basically rolled a £6k bit of kit down their ramp. Somehow it wasn’t damaged.
The same can’t be said for our Apple iMac computer which they dropped. They admitted they’d damaged it and Pearson agreed to pay for a replacement.
That’s when the real problems began! I can’t count how many phone calls and emails it took for them to pay up. Getting them to settle the claim took almost 9 months. And they only settled it as I commenced legal proceedings, at which point they paid up within a few weeks.
Such poor customer care, I can’t stress enough to people reading this not to use them. Steer very very clear.

Customer service was good, responsive and knowledgable. The crew that turned up to pack and move our goods (including the container driver) were fantastic, extremely diligent and hard working. The big issue was the communication between the customer service and the crew. The crew had no idea what vehicle was to be loaded into the container and the ramps provided were inadequate and we could not use them. I had to hire a flatbed for us to load the vehicle onto and then into the container. I was dark and past 7pm by the time we completed this.

After getting several offers for our relocation from Belgium to the US, we decided to go with Pearson because of their competitive pricing and outstanding proactive support by the relocation manager, Martin Powell.
Everything went as agreed - their crew was a bit late on arrival due to infamous traffic in Belgium, but they were efficient and had it all packed up and loaded (8 m3) in a matter of a couple of hours. As an added bonus, the guys were an absolute blast to spend a couple of hours with.
On the receiving end, their partner (Schumacher) contacted us before the shipment even reached the port, and kept us up in the loop on the customs process, which was fortunately painless.
Everything went great on delivery and nothing was damaged. The friendly delivery crew reassembled the few pieces of furniture that were taken apart for shipment and took all the boxes where we wanted them.
I really appreciated their careful handling of our belongings, especially the few items we highlighted as important to us. Also, very happy with Martin's help, explanations and patience with us while we were going through the process.
If we decide to move back to Europe, Martin will be the first one we reach out to!

We had a double move first in the UK and then abroad.The lady dealing with us initially was very efficient and offered us a very good price. The guys unpacking us in both places were excellent. However the ones who came to pack us up were surly,& one shouted at us completely unprovoked. We added 3 flatpacked cupboards to our move (all still flatpacked)& Pearsons asked for an additional £1000 for this! As we were in the middle of the second move,abroad, we had to settle for an additional £600 but normally would not have done that.

Various items were missing at delivery, some compact and valuable, others fragile. It seems that whatever got damaged but was not specifically recorded (in other words, it was recorded as a generic package on the sheet by the movers) was not delivered, even if ensured. The main problem seems to be that our things stayed at Pearson's storage facility, which clearly has big security problems. In addition, the large furniture arrived damaged, and stained, almost every piece was delivered with cracks and/or dirty. Again the crew that delivered could not take the responsibility, since our stuff was handled by various crews (on the way to storage and at the storage). We also bought expensive insurance from them (the only option!?), which so far seems disfunctional.

There was a three week delay in receiving our container in Australia, .because some documents had not been sent, which resulted in costs to us for accomodation. Pearsons did not tell us why there was a dealay, but we discovered from the Italian shippers it was because they hadn't been paid! Not our fault, but our problem! There are lots of removal companies out there, best use someone else who comunicates and tells you the truth: don't make it any more stressful than it needs to be.

I'm extremely pleased with me removal experience with Pearson, moving my belongings from the UK to Netherlands. From the very beginning, until the very end the process was fully professional. Pearson were very accommodating with my tight and urgent deadlines for the move, and they progressed with the quote extremely fast. In the contrary to other companies from which I received quotes, they were able to give me precise pick up and delivery dates, which was great for planning. On the day of the pickup they were very communicative (phoned in advance of their arrival) and the movers were very careful with the items. The delivery was timely and movers were again extremely friendly and helpful. They large truck turned out too large to make a turn into my street, but the movers parked on a different street nearby and kindly moved all the objects despite the distance. Again, very careful and professional.
None of my objects were damaged and everything was in perfect order.

We moved from France to the US over a year ago. We interviewed several companies and Pearson Home Moving presented themselves well and promised that they would provide great customer service throughout the whole move process. We paid for the full insurance since we were moving from a 4 bedroom house in France to the US. The move out and move in process was OK, but many items were broken due to poor packing by the movers and several boxes were lost.
We filed a claim right after the move which was in August of 2016. It took Pearson's and their insurance company forever to process our claim. After about 7 months, 30 emails, 15 phone calls we finally completed the insurance claim and signed a settlement agreement. It's now been an additional 6 months and we have not received any compensation.
I've made 9 or 10 phone calls and over a dozen emails and no one ever gets back to me. I'm now going to have to file complaints with government agencies in the UK and the US to try and get paid for a settlement claim that was signed 6 months ago.
I would never use Pearson Home Movers again. They do not stand behind their work.

The bed is in the garage and I am sleeping on the mattress only. In spite of receiving pictures of the balcony, they sent 2 men when we needed at least 2 to remove the iron balcony - I told them what it was made of and that it wasn't easy, and in the end, they failed to deliver. This is also the first move where no-one helped me to unpack the kitchen and I have moved house 7 times in the UK (not including moving into my first house) and 8 times between different countries and once within Switzerland. This is also the first time only 2 men have been sent and I have a lot more stuff than when I first moved!They did some good packing except leaving some food eg flour, rice opened, whereas in previous moves, the open items had been taped so the contents didn't spill in transit. Also, I am not as young as I was and I had explained to Pearsons that I needed full packing because I now have an illness that makes me weak and I am sad to say that some of the boxes are piled up almost to the ceiling so I will need help to lift them down so I can unpack them - space is limited in this house, but it is the second time I have moved in and that moving Company didn't leave me as badly off as I am now.

We picked Pearson Home Moving to move our stuff back to Denmark since we had a positive experience with them about 2.5 years ago. Unfortunately, their professionalism has gone down since then.
In our case, we booked 12 cubic meters on the return trip in late May 2017. On the moving day, we asked the Dutch-subcontractor if they had space for an extra bike on the move. The Dutch sub-contractor was a bit hesitant but in the end agreed.
Unfortunately, for us, after the move, they contacted Pearson and claimed that we had four cubic meters of over volume. I agreed with the Pearson moving manager that an extra bike would possibly add 1 cubic meter to the total load but 4 cubic meters really sounded ridiculous to me. Therefore we complained about it to Pearson and we requested further evidence of the claim. After many days of back and forth emailing they have still to provide support for the claim. They still ask us to pay up ASAP but being a stubborn scientist I will not pay before I see concrete evidence of the over volume. A simple calculation of the inventory shows it to be around 11.25 cubic meters of load and we have even agreed to pay for an extra cubic meter without requiring Pearson to provide further evidence. Yet they still request payment for 4 extra cubic meters.
We have therefore contacted a legal advisor who recommends that we do not pay for the extra cubic meters before Pearson provides further evidence. If they do not provide the evidence we will be turning in the dispute to The Property Ombudsman and await their official response:
My hope is that Pearson Home Moving will either provide the requested evidence or alternatively settle with us paying for 1 extra cubic meter.
One more thing. Communication is very lax. They do not provide any information about the whereabouts of your goods which is very edgy to say the least!

It is endless, never have I met such a poor company, they have had our belongings for for then 10 weeks now and still waiting! Keeping getting e mails saying we are high priority but nothing has changed, we didn't get the paper work in time ever asking numerous time if all documentation was complete, but what a surprise I kept getting emails even after our belongings had been picked up. Please please do not us Pearsons, no doubt them will reply with another e mail saying they are doing all they can, I have spoken to numerous ex pats and also other removal companies and they are shocked at how we have been handled.

Groupage shipments are dependent on a period of consolidation and then the sailing schedule of the relevant shipping lines. On this occasion the consolidation period took a little longer than usual, and one vessel was then missed as we had not received the necessary documentation from you, including your insurance documentation.
We note that you are unhappy that we could not insure your shipment, but we are physically not able to do so once the move has commenced, it can only be done in advance.
We accept that the delay is unfortunate and it is an unusual event that has not wholly been our fault. Our customers are our priority and we appreciate feedback of any kind. We can confirm that your goods are currently on the way to New Zealand and the team remain at your service should you require anything further.
We called Pearson to move our furniture from Italy to UK. The manager was extremely helpful and kind. All the process was looked after and the movers were on time and very professional. Any item was handled with great care. They delivered on time and were very accomodating in bringing furniture to the right floor. In addition their quote was highly competitive compared to others. Highly recommended.

We had a very smooth move from the UK to the Netherlands. We did use the full service including packing. All items were delivered on time without any damage. The crew was friendly and hard working.
We did have a laugh when my brother mentioned that another truck from Pearson arrived, thought he must have gone mad. But he was actually right as they came to assist with unloading, which meant we did get all stuff unloaded in a day. I would recommend Pearson any time and would use them again without hesitance.

First of all I would like to thank you and your team for a very prompt and courteous service. The team arrived early each of the 3 days it took for them to pack what has turned out to be a very full flat by comparison to Steve and Dave’s prior experiences. They worked hard and diligently, not deterred by the enormity of the task, and, given the difficult situation of having to deal with a lift that we could not get sole control of, and our building manager who flunked politeness school, they got the job done very professionally. I really want to commend these two individuals for a job well done, a courteous behaviour, and a positive attitude under difficult conditions. They elected not to dismantle the furniture, with a few exceptions that I took care of the dismantling for logistic reasons, such as the inability to get them through the door as is, and their sheer size (L-shaped desks mainly). This has saved me a lot of work at the receiving end, for which I am very grateful.
On the receiving end, again, they arrived early in the day despite having just travelled for 3 hours to get here. We elected to not have them unpack boxes, but to deliver them to various locations in the house, including up to our lofts rooms. Again, good spirited and diligent, taking care of the whole job by 4pm on the same day.
We have been unpacking the boxes we could identify (more on that in a minute), mostly china, glasses, and ornamental objects that belonged in our living room and kitchen: Again I am totally impressed with the manner in which each and every object was wrapped, or double-wrapped to perfection, and the boxes well padded around the load. What patience and dedication to the quality and safety of the contents.
We are a long way from having finished unpacking, primarily for lack of space to put things, and not being able to find the pieces needed to rebuild the shelves upon which things should be placed. Which brings me to my only point of criticism: Both of them were very cryptic with the notations on the boxes, and in particular about 50 boxes with the description of ‘Misc’… So we are going to have to open each of these boxes to figure out where the pieces we are looking for are packed, a less than savoury task. But, in all fairness, their assessment that the job would take 3 days to load put them under a lot of pressure to keep moving at high speed, and I can see how such notations could slow down the operations considerably, AND it did take them the full 3 days to get to the truck locking stage, so they are forgiven, and I cannot emphasize enough what an excellent job you have all done!!!
So far we have not found anything broken, so hats off to the team!

Pearson seemed to be a professional organization and was definitely not the cheapest we found, so we had reasonable expectations for a simple process to ship a few boxes.
We hired a removal company specifically to avoid working with shipping agents around the world, reading customs and duty schedules, and completing reams of obscure paperwork.
Instead, we must complete outdated forms incorrectly and repeatedly alter them in legally questionable ways. Because Pearson is not providing the correct documentation to the shipping agents in the US, they suggest working directly with the shipping agents.
This was supposed to be a simple process, but after more than a month of more than 30 emails, my goods are removed but not delivered.
Fundamentally, your removal company should handle the logistics and the paperwork. Pearson has adequately contracted other companies for the logistics, but is not handling the paperwork.

In addition, it was only made evident after your removal that you were not actually moving to the United States. I invited two movers out to the house and we compared their prices and service. There was very little to pick between the two as they both seemed excellent, so it finally went on the price.

And I must say that it was only this company which offered such a good service on a short notice, without causing any additional obstacles/paper work etc and for that price. I was impressed. While it took other companies several days to just reply to my request, then they offered a higher price and/or claimed that the earliest they could collect my boxes would be in 10 days time - Pearson replied the next morning after my request, and arranged the pick up on the next day after we agreed on the details! apart from that, they delivered my boxes even earlier than promised initially and my big blanket that they transferred without any box or cover which could get dirty - arrived perfectly clean and with no damage.

The manager who helped me at Pearson (Kelly Hughes) and her team was extremely helpful and responsive with respect to finding the cheapest option for moving, and that would fit my personal constraints. She offered me several options (fast, 1 week by airplane; or slower 4-8 weeks in a freight container), all of which were much cheaper than the competing companies I had contacted. She was also patient with all the questions that I asked to chose the best deal that would fit my situation.
Once I chose my option, the whole process for booking the pick-up was done extremely fast and I the administrative part (filling in papers) was straight-forward thanks to the help of Pearson.
In the end I chose the cheapest option, as I was not in a rush: a freight delivery from Switzerland to USA - approx. 10 weeks time for delivery.
I requested the delivery arrived before Christmas if possible, which worked out to be the case.
The carton boxes arrived in perfect shape, and all objects inside were in good condition, no smell, no humidity, etc.
The team at Pearson was responsive along the way with information about arrival, etc.
Only thing is that the American company finalizing the delivery on site in New York charged me extra costs for customs (60 USD). Ask Pearson about this in advance, and how much to expect (I think it depends on what you have in your boxes, which country, etc.)
All in all: very happy with the service provided by Pearson: both for the cost and for the service quality.
