Albans Moves were very responsive when we had to do a big long distance move at short notice. Although more expensive than we had budgeted for the team were professional and courteous. Despite the wet weather and distance involved it all went smoothly.

My review is in three parts
Pre-move – completion of our house sale was difficult with two missed dates before we finally made it. Throughout the off again, on again saga Geraldine was very supportive, helping us find the most cost effective solution and helped us keep as calm as possible. 5 stars.
Day 1 removal to store - one lorry and a crew of 3 arrived on time and worked steadily over 5 hours, with great teamwork and no fuss. They took care to understand what was going to store and what was staying. They wrapped vulnerable items very carefully. 5 stars.
Day 2 removal to new home, with many items remaining for the new owners – not such a good day; three vehicles arrived at different times, the largest and most important vehicle arrived late at 0930, which was a worry as this was our completion day with vacant possession required at 1pm. The crew of 6 did not show the same teamwork as on day 1, with the same questions being asked by multiple members of the crew. Still the removal was finished by 1230pm. The delivery to our new home went smoothly with our possessions being placed exactly was we asked. No damage was sustained. 4 stars.
Based our experience I would be happy to use Alban Moves again.Read more

Excellent team who worked really hard on the day of the move and were with us for over 12 hours in the end. My only criticism would be of the surveyor who visited prior to our move and in my opinion left the team too much to do on the day. We would have benefited from the team coming the day before to pack us up (which we would recommend from our experience). That would of course cost more money though and I can't fault the team who worked with us on the day. They were all excellent!

The Movers turned up without boxes or paper in a far too small van… the move went well into the evening where I was left sitting in the old house waiting for another van. My partner had to get in an help as they just didn’t have enough hands as they only sent 3 men. We then didn’t get into our new house till very late meaning we had to stay elsewhere as we didn’t have time to unpack and our child needed to go to sleep.
Our television wasn’t wrapped when put into the van and has now been damaged. Alban loves despite having insurance will not pay our claim. Shocking, stressful and awful service!!!
When you pay nearly £1700 you expect far more. DO NOT USE this company.

It's two years now since they moved us. The pain is still as raw as it was then. They turned up late with unsuitable white vans. They had to return to base to clear stuff out of their van. We had to fill both our own cars with stuff that wouldn't fit their vans. Had help from the professional team moving our buyer to our house (they had to wait for hours while Albans shambled on). I needed to move one bed because they couldn't cope round a tight corner. Managed to leave several items behind. Eventually got very grudging apology after long delay. Avoid this lot.
