198The problems started on arrival in the US. A sub-contractor Solaris uses over here sent us an invoice for a customs X-ray inspection that never happened, as he later admitted in writing. It took extensive sleuthing to work out that the charge was fraudulent, including going through the cargo tracking records ourselves and calling around to third parties. During that time we had no idea if our belongings were going to be delayed or held by a rogue agent.
When we raised it with Solaris, they apologised but offered nothing more. No explanation of how it happened, no offer of any kind of refund for our time investigating or the stress it caused. Despite the fact that we were sent emails demanding payment of $920 before our goods would be delivered, Solaris still keep saying 'no payment was ever requested'
Goods did arrive safely in the end. But we shouldn't have had to do Solaris's due diligence for them, nor go through this stress. Would recommend avoiding at all costs.Read more
A BIG THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN
Now for the delivery: I have been forever chasing up Solaris's partners in New York. The shipping date keeps getting delayed from Solaris's original estimate, which I had to chase up to get. Now I just discovered my items could take another 2-4 weeks to arrive. I had to chase up even to get an arrival form filled out. This means I am waiting again, 2-4 weeks is close to vague as an estimated date for delivery.
I'm sorry, it is ridiculous to constantly be chasing up to find out dates, times etc. It is ridiculous to have to be kept WAITING. I have yet to assess whether any damage has occurred to my items. Solaris has been unprofessional, and its service has caused me undue stress. You don't want to deal with such hassles when moving - you want to be informed, and updated, that is the professional way - don't bother with them.Read more
