During this time, the driver for the the second van had not turned up. I contacted man and van, and they said that the driver had arrived and was loading the furniture. I disputed this as there was nobody at the other address. Joe then realised that it was his mistake and he had arrived at the drop of and not the pick up address! Hence why he had disputed the items for the removal.
There was no apology forthcoming and he carried on loading the van. I contacted find my man and van and explained the blunder on Joe's part and the damage to the fridge.
Joe's manager, then contacted Joe and told him to do the move swiftly, as the error was on his part, not mine, she also mentioned the damage to the fridge. When they arrived with the furniture to the other property, Joe was extremely aggressive to the fact i had reported the damage and started being disrespectful to members of my family. I told him that i had to report the damage as it was done by him! He then left the fridge on my drive and demanded full payment and only then would he transport the fridge into the kitchen. I told him that payment would only be made once the move was completed. Joe then parked his big van on my drive's entrance and refused to move, saying that he would die there but would not move. I then contacted the police, who arrived, and heard both sides. The police man was absolutely sympathetic of my situation and asked Joe to move his van and that if he wanted payment, he would have to take the fridge inside first, and only then would the payment be made by myself. Joe aggressively refused and i was advised not to pay and to take up this matter with his company. Subsequently, Joe has disputed all claims of damage, despite the police arriving, and therefore i will be taking this further with Furniture and Home Improvement Ombudsman.
I have used find my man and van for over a decade and all the drivers have always been the most respectful, courteous and careful people. The last move in April of this year, i tipped the drivers £50 for being so respectful of my home. Never have i come across such an aggressive, nasty and bullying thug like Joe, he should not be allowed into people's homes, and he should never have been in my home in the first place! Do this company do DBS checks, it makes me wonder. The whole experience was traumatising, Joe had no empathy, even when i told him that my brother had passed and i had been to his funeral the same day as the move.Joe is the low life that you read about in the papers and if i had not called the police, i truly believe that my family would have been in danger. I want to warn other people about this company and the thugs they employ as i would not want anybody else to go through what i did and i will be seeking legal advise as well as contacting the Ombudsman.Read more
