The main reason for our move was work. We had to relocate as a family, which meant changing not only our address but also our daily routine, schools, and surroundings. It wasn’t just about transporting furniture; it was about shifting our whole life from one city to another.
Because we had recently bought most of our household furniture, I was especially concerned about how it would be handled. Everything was still quite new, and I didn’t want scratches, dents, or broken pieces during the journey. That was honestly one of my biggest worries before the move.
I started by searching on Google. I created posts about my move and requested quotations on different websites. I received several responses, but what stood out was a call from the owner of LDN Courier and Removal Service Ltd. He explained that they could help with the move and that they had time flexibility, which was important for us.
The price they offered was reasonable compared to others. Some companies quoted higher amounts without clearly explaining what was included. With LDN, I felt the conversation was straightforward. Based on the price and the flexibility they mentioned, we decided to go with them.
Looking back, I think we could have done even better with listing exact sizes and the number of boxes. At the time, I didn’t realise how important detailed measurements would be. That small gap later caused some confusion on moving day.
Still, overall, we managed to get everything ready in time. The coordination before the move was decent, but I do feel communication about exact sizes and van capacity could have been clearer.
On moving day, the movers arrived on time, which immediately reduced some of my stress. Punctuality matters a lot when you’re already anxious about a big day.
They started by loading the larger furniture pieces first, which made sense. After that, they carefully loaded all the smaller boxes and arranged everything properly inside the van. They had a team of helpers, and they worked in an organised way.

However, there was one issue. The first van they brought was small and didn’t have enough space for all our belongings. They had to arrange another van, which caused some delay and wasted time for both us and them. This happened mainly because there wasn’t full clarity about the volume and sizes beforehand.
When they reached Lofthouse, the unloading process went very smoothly. They were professional and systematic. They didn’t just drop the furniture inside; they carried everything to the correct rooms, including upstairs items.
They helped with dismantling and assembling furniture again, which was a big relief. Moving heavy items upstairs is not easy, but they managed it without complaints. They also supported us with unpacking where needed.
The whole unloading experience felt calm, even though moving itself is usually stressful. They didn’t create any issues or unnecessary arguments. Their behaviour was cooperative and respectful.
The best parts of the move were punctuality, care, and luggage safety. None of our belongings were damaged, which was my biggest fear from the beginning. They handled assembling and dismantling properly, and overall it was a good experience.
On the other hand, communication could definitely have been better. There was some lack of understanding about furniture sizes, number of boxes, and van capacity. Because of that, time was wasted arranging an additional van.
If communication had been clearer from both sides, especially regarding detailed measurements and volume, this issue could have been avoided.
In terms of price, I would say it was reasonable. Even though they initially brought a small van and had to arrange another one, the final outcome was still satisfactory.
Considering that everything arrived safely and they helped with assembling and carrying items upstairs, I feel the service matched the price we paid. The only thing that reduced the overall smoothness was the communication gap.

Moving from Romford to Lofthouse with my family was a big step for us because of work, and I was genuinely worried about our new furniture and the logistics of a full house move. While there were some communication gaps and van size issues, the actual handling of our belongings was careful and professional. In the end, what mattered most to me was that everything arrived safely and was reassembled properly in our new home. It reminded me that in any move, clear planning and honest communication are just as important as strong hands and a reliable van.
