Relocating Back to Spain After 13 Years in the UK

A Mixed but Positive Budget Move

A Return Home and a Simple Goal

Relocating back to Spain after 13 years living in the UK. The booking process was straightforward and easy. The day of the move, the pickup was quite stressful — the driver was not planning on helping as much as expected and did not bring a trolley, as requested/expected.
The unloading at the destination was smoother as I had more people to help and had secured trolleys for us to use. I would still recommend this company for the easy process, good communication with the admin, and cheap service to take things from A to B.

Why I Chose This Company

Price & positive reviews.
I did a lot of research, read a lot of reviews. In the world of moving companies, you can find different quotes but with a wide range of prices. I only needed a service to take things from A to B, and with a good average of reviews, it made me think this was the right choice for me given my limited budget.
The reviews sounded legit, and the negative comments were things I could accept given the price. Sometimes you pay premium for people to pack for you, but I didn’t require that service.

Moving Day: Rain, Delays, and Improvisation

Two days before the move, I provided my final inventory. The day before the move, I was informed of the collection time, the driver details, and the delivery times. I was also given a clear list of outstanding fees.

On collection day, I was given a time frame from 2–4 PM. The driver came at 5 PM, but at 3:45 PM I was called to be warned about the traffic delay.

The loading was quite eventful as it was raining heavily and the driver was not really planning to collect the boxes from the flat (3rd floor with lift).
Luckily, between my partner and I, we could bring everything down for the driver to load into the van.
He did a good job loading the van.

Due to this experience, on the delivery day I organised friends and family to help with the unloading, and we had two trolleys — it went smoothly.

Final Tips From My Experience

  • First, look for different quotes, always read the reviews, and see if the negative comments others mention would be a problem for you personally.
  • Make sure you know what kind of service you want or expect.
    • I wanted cheap, and I got it.
  • Make a clear inventory ahead of time.
  • Organise friends and family to help, and have trolleys ready.
  • If you want a fancier service or need more help, then look for a more expensive company.
  • Trust reviews that sound legit — especially the ones that give specific examples of their experience.

It will be fine.
