I relocated to another (my home) country due to private reasons — quality of life, lifestyle, closeness to family and friends, etc.
This decision took years to make and was very difficult. The process was very long as we spent 7 years in England.
It took months of planning and preparation.
Everything went well overall because we split tasks across several months and weeks.
Even though organisation was done well, the process was very stressful.
If a single thing goes wrong, it can potentially create a domino effect.
After I expressed interest in moving via this website, I got contacted by 5–10 different companies within about a week.
Services offered didn’t differ too much between companies, but prices varied significantly. For example, initial quotes were between €2000 and €4500.
We decided to go with this mover due to offering the lowest price. Also, the agent I was in touch with was very helpful, patient, and flexible.
They even reduced the final price because we had fewer boxes than anticipated.
Communication was very smooth, and the agent was very responsive to all my queries.
We started packing all the boxes and suitcases 4 weeks before the move.
The final box was packed on the morning of the pickup.
We were told the exact moving time the day before and communicated with our building reception about freeing up the back entrance, so the van could be parked as close as possible.
The driver was 4 hours late, but this was communicated when asked (again, the agent was very responsive).
We moved all the boxes ourselves near the exit, so when the driver came, there was only a small distance to cross with the boxes.
The rest of the day we were cleaning the apartment we were about to move out from the following day.
Make sure the moving company you’re using communicates everything well and is responsive to your questions.
