What is your insurance policy? How do you deal with damaged items?

INSURANCE Unlike many self-storage companies, we don’t force you to take our insurance — though we do recommend having cover in place.

What is the best advice you would give to customers?

ACCESS If you’d like to visit your items while they’re in storage, simply give us 48 hours’ notice and we’ll arrange for your JamStorage Pods to be available in the viewing area. RETURN MY GOODS When you’re ready to have your items returned, just book a delivery slot and we’ll bring everything back to you. Please note: loading fees may apply while our crew loads your items into the JamStorage Pods at your property.

I would not recommend Jamvans purely because of the poor and misleading pricing strategy. I stored with them and within 5 months my rental was increased by 40%, which was unbelievable.

I was offered the opportunity end the rental, however that was not possible as I was traveling. It seemed like they offered me a competitive price just to get me to store with them and then once I was there, they increased the price massively as I was locked in.

I have given 2 stars instead of 1 because the people I dealt with at the company were polite, my items were not damaged and the pickup/delivery guys were competent. So all in all, 1/10 on how poor their misleading pricing strategy is and 10/10 on the actual storage running

EDIT: I have reduced the rating to one because of the false response to this review. I was never told that the storage volume was more (I know it was half of what I booked), and I attach the email where they just said about the price increase after a review.

I’ve had a Gmail account for nearly 20 years and have never felt compelled to leave a review before, but the service I received from JamVans has been nothing short of abysmal.

We had multiple items broken and damaged during our move. I’m not unreasonable and understand these things can happen, but the total compensation offered was less than the value of our bed alone, despite several items being damaged. This was especially disappointing given that I paid a premium for their additional insurance cover.

What’s made this experience even worse is the lack of communication. I’ve had to chase their customer service repeatedly and am still waiting for replies to two unanswered emails.

Most upsetting of all, our bed was damaged beyond repair, leaving my pregnant partner sleeping on a mattress on the floor. This was reported to the team immediately upon delivery. When I later called to report further damaged items, I was not informed there was a strict timeline for submitting additional evidence, something I only found out afterwards.

Between the move itself, work, and everything else going on, it was already a stressful time. We hired JamVans to reduce stress, not add to it. The whole experience has been deeply disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend them based on what we’ve been through.

I would never trust this company! I can’t stop crying as I keep discovering more things missing! Since getting them out of the lock up. I’m devastated that after moving so many things have been taken / stolen
and being told that they can’t locate them as they don’t have cctv to go back this far? it’s heart breaking when moving and trust is gone, the items you use daily and items that are expensive to buy again, art work that is sentimental to me that I made GONE :( !. I had been with JamVans for 2 years and brought insurance (which I’ve now been told doesn’t cover contents in boxes packed by yourself in the insurance clause)? So as they don’t offer this service there’s no point in buying insurance with them. They also don’t tell you that you need do an inventory of everything in your boxes beforehand and be signed off (which is also a big worry now a lot of things have been taken out of my boxes (and resealed with diff tape - clear and light tape shown in pics ) I only used brown and fragile tape….I had a whole box missing which contained a lot of kitchen and bathroom items - again more then insurance amount)
I have had part furniture missing which was not boxed and some items now not available to re purchase included half my standing lamp, large shelving unit & my sofa legs, chair, laundry basket gone… I’m very disappointed and upset to have spend thousands of pounds over the years to loose a lot of contents. I will be taking further action - if it needs to go to court I will go this far

JamVans service has been excellent, from the first inquiry to delivering our contents from London to Belgium. Although the wait to deliver was a little longer than expected, this was not a problem. Nikki kept in touch as things progressed. All the items were packaged with care, the crew involved in handling the contents in the UK were great, really friendly and efficient. The crew at the other end were excellent. Special thanks to Micheal and Chris in Belgium that did the unpacking with such good humour, nothing was too much trouble. Will use again.

AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!! THEY DESTROYED MY FURNITURE AND ARE NOW IGNORING ME!!!
After using their storage service for a couple of months, I got my items delivered back to me ruined. Some belongings smashed, others broken/ripped, one item slashed and many covered in scratches. They initially responded to my email about resolving this and have since gone quiet. I have given them a month since my first email they ignored, and wrote them a follow up since and they have not responded.
This company will not look after your belongings.
They have a terrible system with who packs and delivers their items and because of that there is no accountability in looking after your items.
AVOID JAM VANS AT ALL COSTS IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR BELONGINGS.
They pretend to care about their service and then ghost you. Absolutely vile behaviour.
