What makes your company stand out?

Our values include providing moving services through social and ethical means whilst offsetting our carbon footprint to ensure a more sustainable future. Since beginning of 2023 Lockwell has reduced plastic usage by 95%. Reeducating our team in using paper based heavy duty wrapping and protection not only to help our environment, but it also provides more robust protection to our customer belongings. Lockwell no longer use vinyl PVC based tape and instead now use reinforced recycled paper tape.

What is your insurance policy? How do you deal with damaged items?

We are fully insured with both Goods in Transit and Public Liability Insurances, so that you know your belongings are covered and secure whilst in our care. For international moves we offer MoveProtect which is a product specifically incorporates the specifics of overseas moving requirements.

What is the best advice you would give to customers?

-Book your removal in advance. -Trust the Company you employ. -Take advantage of the knowledge your Move Coordinator can assist with. -Read the FIDI and IAM country guides. -Understand the terms and conditions of your move, what is and is not included. -Book with a BAR registered company for your peace of mind.

We recently used Lockwell for our house move and they were absolutely brilliant from start to finish.

We had only two weeks’ notice and a very uncertain moving timeline, which was incredibly stressful, but [Name removed by Sirelo] was so calming, knowledgeable and helpful on the phone. He made everything feel manageable and easy, even when we only had a few days’ notice of the confirmed moving date.

[Name removed by Sirelo] was fantastic too. He led the packing the day before the move and was thoughtful throughout — even making sure our beds were left out for us overnight. On moving day, the whole team was super efficient and professional. Everything was transported carefully and arrived in great condition, completely without drama.

What stood out was how much they recognised that this was a big and emotional day for our family, and they treated it that way. They genuinely helped make a very stressful experience feel smooth and special.

Lockwell recently moved me and my family from Ilford to Dubai, and the whole experience was excellent. We used their shared container service for our 2-bedroom home, and they offered us a brilliant price—much cheaper than booking a full 20ft container.

The packing team in the UK were professional, careful, and very attentive. When our shipment arrived in Dubai, our new home wasn’t ready yet, but Lockwell stored our belongings free of charge for a month, which was a huge relief.

Delivery in Dubai was handled by their local team, and there were even more guys helping compared to the UK. Everything arrived safe and sound. They unpacked, reassembled our furniture, and took away all the rubbish, making the whole process effortless.

Fantastic service overall—on time, great communication, and completely stress-free. Highly recommended!

Everything with my shipment to UAE went smoothly, any delays that occurred were clearly communicated and genuinely beyond their control.

They always responded to my calls and emails within a reasonable amount of time.

Nothing was mishandled, and everything arrived well packed.

My experience with Lockwell International was completely positive and very different from some of the negative reviews I’ve seen here.

Their professionalism and reliability really stood out, and the whole experience gave me confidence in their service.

Lockwell International based in Rainham in Essex have essentially done the same to me as that of Jade Handley's experience. They are also holding my shipment which was meant to be released and delivered to Muscat, Oman through Acorn Movers LLC their sister company in Dubai in the middle of October. It seems like there are more than just my shipment that is being held by these companies all affecting personal lives which has been confirmed by Acorn.

I have been on the phone and email to them for the last 6 weeks after the shipment arrived and cleared customs in Dubai in trying to get my shipment of personal goods released and delivered to Muscat, Oman. This company told me it would go through Dubai and that they have had 'many clients' from Oman!

They have made the same excuses that Jade has experienced, Trade license issues, Lockwell saying payment has been made but Acorn saying payment hasn't been made and the shipment cannot be released. Lockwell then saying Acorn's bank account has been frozen, Acorn saying they have given Lockwell several accounts to make payment to. The last communication by Lockwell was last Friday when they said a meeting to release my goods was going to happen on the weekend. Following that weekend, Lockwell are ignoring all calls and emails.

Any calls to them are answered by what appears to be new telephone receptionists that were not there in the previous 3 months of dealing with them filtering who gets through to them and any message left with the receptionists are not being returned. I've had to constantly call Lockwell who can't be bothered to call me back when they say they will. Lockwell International is not to be trusted!

Avoid this company at ALL costs!! I am happy to be contacted to provide further information of this fraudulent company! They seem to be holding people's shipment to ransom!Read more
