We chose this removals company for our international move because of their reputation and paid a significant premium for peace of mind. Unfortunately, that trust was completely misplaced.
Despite paying for a full packing service, around 25 items arrived damaged, destroyed or missing. One of the missing items was a sentimental family heirloom that had been specifically discussed with the packing team before the move and was taken into their care but never delivered. The inventory was incomplete and several items that were collected simply did not appear on the list.
What made the situation worse was the way it was handled afterwards. Customer service was consistently dismissive and, at times, rude. Our concerns were repeatedly brushed aside, our account of events was effectively questioned, and several emails went unanswered. Rather than investigating properly or taking responsibility for missing items, the company focused entirely on hiding behind their terms and conditions and pushing us to accept a small £500 “limited liability” insurance payout.
After paying a premium for what was advertised as a professional service, the lack of accountability, empathy and basic customer care was extremely disappointing. We had a total of 20 boxes; 2 tables a chair and one bike to move back to Germany. Mercia Movers are true professionals and helped us through the whole process. They made it really easy - and even if the 'move' was so small they treat us really well. They were attentive and clear on the requirements. They made the whole stress of moving to go away!

Avoid this company.
No professional installers. At arrival, just a driver and one heavy weight person supposed to carry and install. No clue how to install the furniture disassembled at departure. We have no bed to sleep on, has been left in pieces and broken. The TV is smashed and bent, nearly every pice transported has major issues.
Whatever business license should be lifted.
