Very poor on communication, sometimes several days waiting on replies to my questions and concerns. We were told that we needed to have our items trans shipped because our road and driveway in Devon was too small for the Pickfords lorry, they would find a place to park and load our items onto smaller truck and bring in. Well the driver decided to drive the massive lorry down our tiny road (to save them the extra work) and block the road forcing our new neighbours to have to drive on the verge, destroying it and not exactly endearing us to our new community. There were only 3 people unloading, including the driver. We were told that there would be 2 vehicles and 2 crews.
We had boxes of donations and lots of cardboard that we thought would be dealt with by Pickfords but when the driver came back after we were done unpacking he only took half of our boxes and didn’t have any room for the donations….we paid a lot of money to them for our move and we feel like we did not get what we paid for. They did get in touch after I posted a review on trust pilot but wanted me to call the Salvation Army and confirm piece by piece that they would take my donations, also unlike advertised they only take undamaged Pickfords boxes, which is not always the case because they sold us damaged previously used boxes. They claim to be the best, the bar must not be very high.Read more

Awful start to finish .
Will tell you what you want to hear to get your money .
Rely on t & cs even though they have let you down massively 19 day no response time .
My family were looking forward to out new life they ruined it .
The manager is unsympathetic, rude staff .
The only time they are quick is for a bill or if your paying .
Genuinely avoid .

Physical moving was straightforward. But the paperwork was more complicated especially the insurance work. The removal men were hard working and I think the coffees and choccie biscuits helped!! (Joke) They arrived as expected and worked with us re organising the good.

We have entrusted Pickfords,the removal company, to pack our items in April 2021 and to store them in their warehouse. Before our move we have asked to provide us with a crate to pack a very fragile antique vitrine. On the day of the move the crate has never materialised. We kept our belongings at Pickford warehouse for 13 months. In June 2021 Pickfords has moved our belongings back to our house. During the move the delivery of our grand piano turned out to be
a total disaster:the unprofessionalism of the team, the non-existent communication between the team and their managers had resulted in a very badly damaged piano. Most importantly the vital set of the screws, bolts and other important details to re-assemble the piano was lost .The managerial team of the company was late with apologies and is not capable to take responsibility for this disaster .We can not use the piano as a musical instrument and we were offerd by Pickfords £40 to get new screws. The Pickford's team of the day of the move included a female worker with very long acrylic nails.I felt very nervous seeing her carrying our items.
The whole experience with Pickford's was extremely unpleasant and I question Pickford's ability to handle specialised items .
If you have to pack and move antiques or other specialist items like a musical instrument, than think twice before entrusting these items into the hands of Pickford's unprofessional movers and packers.Read more
